OT Ducks vs. Beavs (i.e. Civil War)

OK, well, I already owe you a fantastic steak dinner @ The Ringside (or such).

Soooooo...

How can I get some sort of double-or-nothing bet into the mix. Hmmmm??
Been a long time, my daughter went there in the 90's and had two kids at Oregon and it just seemed that OSU was not as political as Oregon.
Oh, Oregon State was plenty political as far back as I went there in the early 70s. We jumped at the chance to join OSPIRG, Oregon Public Interest Research Group. OSU, Corvallis and Benton County have been leaning Democratic for a long time now.

I believe the SEC Championship will be for the National Title.

How many times did the Grateful Dead play at Oregon State? Maybe, The Oakridge Boys?
They played at least once, I was there. Santana was the backup. They played in Parker stadium, now Reeser stadium.

Sadly, CJ Verdell won't be able to be part of this year's Civil War--just read he's out for the year.

it's not just Verdell lost for the year.

MC announced that starting safety Bennett Williams, a Pac-12 player of the week is lost for the year. So is Dru Mathis, starting LB. And it's probably the reality that Justin Flowe is out for the year as well who Deruyter had a bunch of blitz packages for because of his unreal speed

Starting DE Bradyn Swinson should be finally back though. And Thibodeaux will miss the first half of the next game because of a questionable targeting call. The Duck defense that started the year has just been decimated. Since that 1st half against Fresno State, the Ducks have been playing without Justin Flowe and Dru Mathis; Thibodeaux and Adrian Jackson. Jayden Navarette and Jackson LaDuke. Now Williams. Not to mention Cam McCormick being lost for the season, again. So is Jonathan Denis from the OLine

Last week they played without starting C Alex Forsythe, and reserve OL Logan Sagapolu

Cristobal has said he's never seen anything like how hard the injury bug has hammered the Ducks this year. And he said that before OC Joe Moorhead was hospitalized

The Verdell injury is awful. Blessings for a complete recovery. Just read Coach Cristobal says, Brown Jr. gives the team , the best chance to win. Well, then Brown Jr. better learn to read defenses, & FAST. Because opposing teams are gonna stack the box, and make Brown Jr. show just that. And i think it's time to show he can hit a downfield target accurately as well.

I’m only confident in Brown Jr’s skills if they’re playing with the lead.

Gotta get this Wazzu game! I really like our schedule from here on out. We get the better PAC-12 teams in Corvallis until we go to Eugene.

tic......tic.....tic......

Is this games still all-important to national ramifications? Hmmmm....I doubt it. But it still may determine a Rose Bowl bid.

Who thinks this may become the most critical game of the season for BOTH teams?

I do.

Here we are.

As I understand it:

1) If the Ducks win, they're in. (PAC-12 Championship game in LV)

2) If the Beavs win, the Fuskies have to beat the Cougars for the Beavs to get in.

I was all for hoping the Ducks played well and got to the Playoffs round.
But now it's all about the Beavers!

if you go by the last 16 hours, Beavs will win

if you go past that cutoff, Ducks will win

if you go by where the game is played, Ducks will win

asterisk is the Ducks are a MASH unit. Depending on the severity of Mckinley's injury, and Funa's, the Ducks could be missing 7 starters on defense and 6 on offense

I think the best chance for Oregon being represented in the Rose Bowl now falls on the Beavs. Oregon's play on Saturday was completely pathetic on every level. Not to mention, they're now completely banged up. Even if they happened to beat the Beavs this Saturday, they'd get trounced yet again by the Utes. (BTW, what's up Britain Covey having, like, 85 first cousins?!! Oh, yeah. He's Mormon.)

GO BEAVS!! GO COUGS!!
