Dunc'd On grades our offseason (and the rest of the west)

So, I don't give much credence to two guys who sound like they are broadcasting from their grandma's basement. I far from agree with their F and F+ grades, as well as their snide jokes regarding how one gets a + in front of an F. No, the Blazers didn't get Whiteside, Horford, and thank God, Howard. But, Olshey got Turner and Ezeli, of which these two are quick to degrade, to give Stotts a deep dish bench, and to maintain assets and players that could be traded in the future. Their assertion that we should have signed Deng is ridiculous, as is the notion that two of Crabbe, Meyers, and Harkless (I think that was the third name they dropped) would not play. These guys obviously don't know what they are talking about, nor can they see the big picture..."they might win maybe 50 games" but I'll give them an F because they didn't get better and have guys on solid contracts that will keep the team together, with a few new names and allow them to grow. And to say Henderson is a better player then Turner who can play multiple positions including pg, and has a far better defensive pedigree...don't make me laugh...I give these guys an F#$%&

Who will see Tim Frazier/Brian Roberts minutes - at best. Probably less, since we added a 3rd ball handler in Evan Turner who makes then need for a back up PG almost non-existent. We can feasibly play Dame, C.J. and Turner 36 MPG and have two of the three on the court at all times. Of course, they won't all average 36 MPG, but they won't have to Napier (and others) will get occasional spot minutes, and of course, the usual garbage time minutes, but when the games matter, it will be Dame, C.J. and Turner manning the ball handling duties.

Thought we should have just resigned Roberts

In hindsight, since CHO signed Roberts for the minimum, that would have been preferable. However, at the time Neil renounced his rights, his cap hold of $3,711,422 was almost 3x what Napier will make in the coming season. That was back when Neil was still chasing free agents, so that additional two and a half million in cap space was needed for flexibility. Robert signed with CHO on July 7, before we signed Ezeli. So, even though getting his cap hold off the books wasn't required, in hindsight, it wasn't a given at the time that we wouldn't need the extra space.
