There was a report during CJ's rookie year that this 'cool guy facade' you call it rubbed Aldridge the wrong way in practice.
CJ's always had a little swag/cockiness to him. Going back to college.
This topic always comes up once a summer and it has to be pointed out to people(not just you) that CJ has always been that way. Then people are 'oh'. Last year I provided the article, this year I just don't care enough to find it again.
It probably rubbed him/them the wrong way the same reason it rubs some fans the wrong way. It’s like he’s compensating. He doesn’t ever actually stand up for himself on the court (outside that one time against the French guy, shouldn’t even count.) Draymond punks him on the regular. He was nowhere to be seen during the Paul/Dame incident but was quick to fire off some cringe “no layups while I’m around” non sense in his postgame interview. It’s embarassing. He’s a dork. And it’s fine. Just embrace it.
