OT Durant to GSW?

I think once one of DMC/Drummond/Davis get traded to a "cusp" team (hopefully us!), that could pave the way for dismantling GSW. Right now none of the dominant bigs in the league are on good teams, so GSW doesn't really have to worry about getting smashed in the paint. Pair one of those three with Dame, make a few moves to get a better SF and shore up whatever weaknesses were created by the trade, and I think that poses a huge problem for GSW.
I like this idea. .... a lot. I would add KAT to that list for the future as well.

Tell that to the 40 teams they have beat this year. I agree with you on the way to beat them, I just don't think there are any teams currently that either can or will do that. I would love to see them get a lesson with a physical beat down though.
I think anyone can, they just need to accept that the first few weeks of playing that way will be rough but as they continue to play that way, what are the refs going to do? Call fouls everytime? Its basically what helped the Warriors... They move almost all their screens but the refs aren't going to call it anymore.

Yeah - I've only seen him a couple of times, so it'll take a while for him to stick in my mind. But he definitely belongs on that list.

I have noticed Bogut with the moving (and dirty)screens. The warriors are the face of the league right now though. Not sure the refs would end up ignoring rough plays against them.

That was also the Jerry Sloan philosophy. If all 5 guys are fouling all the time, at most the refs will only call 1 of the 5 fouls - giving you 4+ uncalled fouls every possession.

He is still a rookie, so he has a lot of room to grow, but he looks like a natural out there. He is smooth and powerful and already has 10 times the confidence than he had to start the season.

The NBA needs to make a rule where you can only have 1 player making more than $18M, only 2 making more than $15M, etc. That's something for the CBA I guess, but it'd stop superteams and create more parity

The Warriors will only stay on top for as long as teams try to replicate what they do. When teams understand that trying to do what the best team does is pointless they will start making their own systems. The NBA is a revolving door.

You think teams aren't trying? Teams tried to replicate the Jordan Bulls, too. All it would've taken is another Jordan and Pippen.

The Heatles all took pay cuts. And somehow that pissed everyone off too.

Yeah, they're more like the Monkees. But that doesn't merge with "Heat" so well. Miamkees?

No. I burned that stupid, moronic moniker out of my brain as quickly as they tried to stuff it in. That name was made to let the little brainwashed folks think they were a big deal.

That is all. Phew.

Ugh. Salary cap itself is anti American. This is worse. No need for manufactured parity when the system isn't broken.

Fuck American capitalism. Do you want only one team worth a shit, because unfettered capitalism is designed to create a monopoly.

*whisper whisper*

What's that? We have the richest owner?

Yeah, salary caps are the devil!

Exactly. Besides, revenue sharing is prolly as good as it will get for cheap owners in small markets

Would make sense..... The Spurs, for example, just plan to just keep adding free agents onto their team so they never have to rebuild. As long as your winning, a potential free agent will at least listen to you. Well. At least the Lakers suck. I have to take it where I can get it.

If I were making a board/card game where each player was assembling a deck of different cards as part of the game (the other part being you play competitive game with the deck you made), I'd think first about what my goal was.

If my goal is parity and balance, I'd put a value each card and give every player a hard point limit and card count minimum. This incentivizes players to spend the max but because the cards are valued with care, each deck should be competitive if the player is decent.

If my goal is to get players to buy more cards because I'm in the business of selling them cards, I set a card minimum, put no values on the cards, and set no point limit. This encourages players to keep the leanest, meanest deck, but to constantly change it up as new cards come on the market.

The NFL does the first and the MLB does the second. I'm not sure which I like more, or what business the NBA is in.

There are only 30 teams in the league

They were a big deal. 4 straight NBA Finals. 2 championships.

Is this going to be a thing where it becomes a trade cj thread every time? Not singling you out, just noticing,...
To be fair to the trade gurus, Dame isn't going anywhere, which leaves CJ as our only valuable trade commodity. In addition, he is viewed as slightly redundant to our best player. So, yeah, I expect CJ will be offered up in trade scenarios for superior players at positions of need.
