I had some really good pizza in the Village last month... It wasn't that always busy one on the corner of.. I think grove and whatever (about 2 blocks from the Friends house), but about 4 blocks from there. So good.

Dont remember the name of it though.

It's cool. The pizza was good when it first opened. IMO they lost their way with the focus on the buffet. I haven't been to one in years.

You finally get one right....with a caveat. Nostrana and Ken’s Artisan Pizza come real damn close to Appizza Scholls....not all the way there, but close.

Ken’s Artisan is my 2nd favorite but still a big gap... never tried Nostrana

Izzy’s was kinda mediocre, but it was like white trash Disneyland as a kid. All you can eat pizza? Come the fuck on.

I remember the cheese being weird though.

Never heard of them till now. It's not too far from me on Hawthorne. I'm on their website now and it looks GOOD. I'll have to check that out.

I suggest making an on line reservation (in advance) whenever you can. Otherwise get there 15 minutes before it opens and wait in the line that has already formed. “Second seating” (when the majority of the first comers have finished eating and are leaving) usually happens around 7:00. That’s how popular it is. But it’s well worth it.....
