I actually don't mind his grumpy old man persona and even his columns, but ever since he discovered twitter he's taken trolling to whole new level; selectively re-tweeting every motherfucking piece of half-literate hate he gets -- sometimes 30 plus times in five minutes -- is fucking annoying as hell. I had to stop following him.

I've noticed a few things about Dwight -- he's an act.

On Twitter he goes out of his way to be an asshole.

On Talkin' Ball he's \../ this side of MB in his praise for the young guys.

My problem with him is he's a self-described pioneer in Portland sports journalism. He's a has-been. Maybe a never-was. Trolling the fanbase of the only pro sports team in town and being in a former colleagues, now GM's back pocket to create controversy is about as low as it goes in "journalism".

Uncle Fester called, he wants his toupe back.

I still maintain that Paul Allen must have stolen Dwight Jaynes' best girl. Because up to the mid-to-late 90s Jaynes was fulsome in his praise of the Blazers every move, embarrassingly so. Then all of a sudden not only did Portland do everything wrong, they did everything wrong retroactively - I remember him slamming the Blazers, about 6 years after the fact, for taking Clifford Robinson in the second round. He even blamed the team for things totally beyond their control (a Rose Garden concert had to be cancelled when a band member got sick). Now he just makes shit up. He's the sports version of birthers. No matter how many times Paul Allen says he's not selling the team, Dwight Donald Trump Jaynes says he knows the team really is for sale.

Can't think of any basketball related reason for the turnaround, got to be personal. Come on Dwight, get over it, she's probably married to some other dude and has 3 kids by now!
