This image taken in 1990 by Voyager 1. They were afraid to turn the camera to face the sun for fear of damaging the camera. But at this distance, 6B miles, and the mission basically over, they said, "what the heck" and took the picture.

The Earth is a tiny dot in the rightmost brown band, a little more than half way down the picture.

Denny, isn't that the photo on the cover of Carl Sagan's book Pale Blue Dot?

Could be. I remember he presented the photos for NASA way back when (when he was alive).
