Edward Albee, Pulitzer-Winning Playwright, Dead At 88

Edward Albee, the acclaimed playwright known for “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “A Delicate Balance,” died Friday at his home on Long Island at the age of 88.

Albee’s personal assistant confirmed the playwright’s death to the Associated Pressand NPR. No immediate cause of death was given, but his death followed a short illness, his assistant Jackob Holder said.
