I grew up around mold. Didn't phase me. Luckily I had hay fever so bad I didn't have to help haul hay bales...ha.

Mold nothing. Vegas for a few months is a nightmare without allergy pills.
 
I see both sides of the argument.. except for Cippy getting banned. I've read most of it.. did he do anything other than call someone racist? I've seen many posters do that multiple times, and never thought it was an insult.. and if it is, why didnt they get a warning, or their post edited? Just trying to understand.

Why is it that people I'm NOT talking about get so mad when I refer to the racists they supposedly hate too?

If you aren't a butthurt racist, why are you so upset when I call out that 25% of the country on the racism we supposedly ALL hate?

True. I was however, raised by a mother born in 55' who lived for 9 years under Jim Crow. She went through "forced bussing" to Jackson when it was a high school. MLK was killed just 8 years before I was born. The 13th Amendment is still in its current form.

There aren't 2 sides to telling me to tell "your boys in the hood" to stop carrying guns.

There's only one side there... Plus, I live in Milwaukie and JUST yesterday I'm in the 7-11 on Park and the guy comes in with a Ruger on his hip open carrying.

I was nervous Adonal FOYLE!!

He was not black and I SURELY wouldn't tell him my philosophy on open carry. It certainly wasn't the time.

Had a hard time with the quotes. You'll see it if you care to look. You do it all the time. Not always and you don't state it as a core belief. You just fall back on it when you don't agree with something.

We’ve made a lot of progress. I got like 5+ people to admit that dviss says racist stuff about white people, but no one cares because he’s black.

His hate is justified, because of something along the lines of “being an angry black male”

Whereas, white people on this board are held to a higher moral standard.

Approach any black person with that type of vernacular and they would react negatively. One might beat his ass, the other might tell him about himself very eloquently. One might give him a look and just ignore him. I'm just pretty damn sure the response would be negative and I know better than you do.

This would indicate we don't all think alike.

Just when this thread was nice and calm and talking about restaurants, dams, and allergies, it gets all spun up again.

And no, I'm not interested in any finger-pointing placing blame. Not helpful, not productive.

Is anything useful being accomplished in this thread at this point?
 
I have to think that we are reasonable people and capable of discussing issues related to race without resorting to the constant bickering and backbiting. Is it all about trying to show ourselves as better than the people on the other side of the discussion? That's almost exclusively what I'm seeing in this thread...on both sides.

Please, I beg of you all, give some grace, believe yourself to be better than the other person without the need to prove it, and be willing to let a perceived slight go without a response.
