Just got back from playing on the beach with my dog. Now in my hotel suite with mrs pokerdog enjoying a jack n coke. Going to go to the casino, watch the blazers and play a little poker. Therapy!

Haven't read any of these posts but I'm sure everyone is treating each other with respect.

Go Blazers!

True sarcasm doesn't need green font.

Everything is going great. I’m holding it down in your absence.

You guys do know what is missing here? I mean our failure to communicate is monumental because of a long list of misunderstanding an lack of interest beyond our own boundaries of existence. @BLAZINGGIANTS touched on it just a tad when speaking of his growing up in West Linn. But it is way more than that.
I lived in West Linn about, wel... left for Cupertino 43 years ago. So it is not where you live but the tracks you take, and the interests you have. That creates the smack you make. @HCP is so different from me in both geography and history, but for one thing, I was heavily involved with the Blazer but in their beginning. I often ran the score board for them at practice in the L&C gym. I made sure I had that in, by getting the contract to maintain that scoreboard, so I had the key. Had 12 season tickets seat too, well under my control. Still young enough to fill in as an extra for a scrimmage with the guards, Adelman, Petrie, McKinsey, Barnett, xxxx and me. That is until Barnett bitched. Time has since separated us a bunch (HCP), hell he was not even checking out North Portland yet.

Then we have this City boy vs the spaces. My Goodness, my home is the West Coast!
Then we have the Nerd! and those that just wonder what the fuck makes a Nerd! Tommy Protho once said that to me, were you really a Nerd? I never had one of those before. heh heh! Yep, introduced a couple of time as the Chief Nerd. I loved it.

Then my friend @riverman has me on ignore. Shoot we were doing fine until Trump became President. Now, I just can't abide someone insulting our President non stop.
That is just a problem. So I am on ignore. This you see, this is what I see.

Bragging about his swanky vacations.... this is a gateway post to posing in front of other people's nice cars and taking photos of their drinks at Starbucks.

Dammit, 3 drinks and I'm a little buzzed. Not the best state for playing poker. Hopefully there is a Starbucks around.

Hillbilly isn't a race. And you keep moving in this hillbilly direction when we know why he said it. Context matters. Imo there's really no argument about it. He's not a hillbilly so why would we think that he's using hillbilly language?

Answer this for me:

My white side of the family (believe I have one or not) calls their kids "lil monkey" all the time. The Black kids (there are 4 of the 14) don't get called that. Why?

Because these forward thinking white folk understand that's why.

I have a book about Roger Maris written back in the 60's and all the coaches and sportswriters refer to Maris as "a good little monkey" throughout the story. It was obviously meant as a compliment and a tribute to athleticism in this case. I believe they called Willie Mays one also, again as a compliment. Common speak back then, now the comparison is taboo, and there's no real substitute. English is dying at the hands of the pc mob.

It happened!
I don't know what the hell happened that day they decided to crucify Cosell though! What heck spawned that evil?

Cmon man.

Frankly, I think we have to question the sanity and intelligence of everyone on this forum..... because we closely follow a sport where we have zero chance of winning a championship. It's like getting kicked in the balls and going back a second time, and a third, and a fourth... over and over and over.

What kind of people does that make us?

Cubs fans.
