All within the margin of error.

I recall the looting in New Orleans by blacks after Hurricane Katrina. They were just wandering through a WalMart, taking items off the shelves like toys that had nothing to do with "survival." Even the black cops were looting. Unbelievable.

I recall white people looting there also.

Riot at Mook's house. Everyone show up!

seriously--I just don't see people getting that crazy over McCain. It's like in 2000--nobody rioted over Gore because he just wasn't that inspiring in his campaign. I wanted him to win, but I didn't want it so much that I was going to set my coffee and newspaper down and get off my doughy ass and do something about it (other than vote).

McCain just doesn't stir passion in anybody, which has been part of his problem. Palin does, but who is going to riot over the vice presidency?

Who's going to riot over the Pistons winning a championship?

Yep. It's pretty close (in spite of weeks and weeks of stories about how McCain's been on the ropes) and I can't believe that anyone paying attention would go out and riot if McCain wins.

Ed O.

But if you pay attention to MSNBC, CNN or your local newspaper, the story is that McCain is done.

He's not done like Mondale was done. He's done as in it would take an absolute miracle to win.

The polls really haven't tightened. Over the past several weeks, they've fluctuated up and down by a point or so, but basically shown Obama with a 6-7 point lead. And Obama is in even better shape when one looks at the battleground states. He's around 300 electoral votes that are "safe" and has a chance at almost 50 more that are still toss-up but leaning Obama.

Could all of this be turned around in a week? I'm sure it's conceivable. But the chances are pretty tiny at this point.
