:sigh:

rail Blazers guard Elliot Williams will undergo surgery to repair a dislocated right patella, the Trail Blazers announced today.

The injury occurred Wednesday, Nov. 3, during court conditioning drills at the team's Practice Facility. Williams will be re-evaluated after surgery but will likely miss the rest of the regular season.

Re: Elliot Williams out for the season

Damn. Are our trainers having the players do some strange exercises that are putting more stress on the knees? What is the deal here?

THIS ONE IS THE MAIN ONE.

Re: Elliot Williams out for the season

Me and BeerBoy posted it first... :)

Re: Elliot Williams out for the season

Crazy it's another leg/knee problem here. Before the season, Elliot was probably the player I most looked forward to seeing because of all his hype about his athleticism and crazy vertical he had. Oh well, least we got Armon tearing it up and I doubt Elliot would've found any PT this year anyway.

Re: Elliot Williams - surgery - out for the year

Damn.

This doesn't help my already terrible anxiety whenever a Blazer leaps/jumps/lands.

Re: Elliot Williams out for the season

Was it the knee or ankle that bothered him earlier?

Portland Trail Blazers -

where knees go to die.

This. Is. Horrible. Geezus. What the fuck is up, Bob? Williams' dunks were so awesome at FanFest. I was looking forward to seeing him in garbage time at some point this season. This hurts us in terms of using him as a trade asset. Dammit. Can we bring in Claver to replace him?

How do you dislocate your patella during conditioning? I guess conditioning is a broad term, but this is weird stuff...

What the hell's up with all the recent patella injuries??? DAMN...makes me watch the games while peeking through my fingers and cringing the whole time.

This is more than a coincidence. This is the THIRD patella injury.

We have to fire the training staff ASAP.

The patella? Anything but the fucking patella!!!

If I believed in curses...

this is getting fucking crazy!

Good idea. Being reactionary before finding out the actual problem is always the best route. Make rash decisions now; find out what actually happened later.

The foundation for success.

Why? Why! WWWWWHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! ... nope, dont feel better. This sucks. Hang in there Elliot.

It's amazing how much the Blazers have locked shit down this year. This happened yesterday and we're just finding out about it now?

A former co-worker of mine is an assistant coach for a Pac-10 basketball team, so he is not just some average guy speculating... He told me last year (during all the injuries) that he fully believes some of it is Nate's style of coaching regarding how he conducts practices. He said that the practices are too intense (or something like that) mixed with an NBA schedule and that it just wears too hard on the players' bodies, but I can't imagine that being Williams problem considering he is so new to the team.

Ok there is only one thing to do. We must immediately remove all players Patella's so they can no longer be hurt that way. :ohno:
