We could sure use him

For the first time this season on Monday, Williams participated in the team's shootaround as they prepared for the Washington Wizards. Trail Blazers trainer Jay Jensen thought it would be good for Williams to jump in the mix.

“Jay told me to go ahead and try to shoot and move around with the team so I went ahead and did it and it felt good,” Williams said. “It was the first time I got to do it and be with the team. I just did a lot of shooting drills, so that was a good sign for me as far as healing. It was a step in the right direction.”

I think he will show some promise with the Timberwolves, but then get injuried shortly after pre-season starts.

I'm sure he'll get back on the court under the watchful eyes of our training staff.

I really hope he is back with us next year.
I'm not worried about his history of injurys. This last one was a freak accident and could have happened to anyone.

Williams has been hurt every season. He hurt himself this last time doing something every NBA player does every day. At some point you are injury prone, and that point was last season for Williams

I can't remember who posted it, but it was very telling... Something about Greg Oden has played in more games than E Will on that same first 4 year span. Something like double the amount of games.

That's what we always said about Oden.

I don't see what all the excitement is about he hasn't even shown he can stay on the court for more than 20 games.

I thought it was really nice seeing e will walking on his own at huddles and at the end of the game. It would be such a blessing to see him on the court this season. I don't know how possible it is though.

I would like to see him healthy with this team next year but he is a free agent and i just am not sure he will be here

I doubt it, unless he feels some loyalty with the team. He could just wait it out until Portland does all their signings, then sign, regardless if they are over cap or not (bird rights)

Hopefully not. I'd hate to lose cap room for an injury riddled player like Williams

We won't have cap room after this summer. This is the year to do what we need to do. If we build our team and e will is still available, offering him a mle contract of 1.5 mil per isn't going to hog tie this team. If he finds another team, I wouldn't blame him though. Maybe he should lean towards Phoenix? They have an awesome training staff.

I wonder if he would be interested in playing for Memphis since he played college ball and is from there. I have no idea what their needs or cap situation is but just a thought.

Well if he gets 1.5 mil, it really wouldn't matter what financial situation the team is in. Even teams with luxury tax can still offer vet min or min mle contracts.
