The 2010-11 Iowa Energy will go down in the record books, as a 115-105 win over the New Mexico Thunderbirds Saturday night allowed the Energy to match the best regular season record of any team in NBA D-League history. The Energy's 37-13 record matches the teams' record from last season, giving the four year old franchise the top two single season win totals in league history.

New Mexico controlled most of the early action, as a Walter Sharpe jump shot mid-way through the 1st quarter gave the home team a 14-7 lead. The Energy responded with a surge later in the quarter to take a 29-27 lead.

The 2nd quarter was all Energy as wing man Moses Ehambe caught fire for Iowa. Ehambe, who entered the games as the league's top 3-point shooter, scored 22 of his game high 28 points in the 1st half to help give the Energy a commanding 70-57 lead at the break.

Iowa extended the lead to as many as 19 points in the 2nd half on their way to the win. On the night, the Energy made 11 3-pointers compared to only three for New Mexico.

The win is the Energy's 150th consecutive game in first place in their conference.

Point guard Curtis Stinson finished with 16 points, 13 assists and 7 rebounds while Marqus Blakely added 18 points and 10 rebounds.

New Mexico was led by former Detroit Pistons forward Walter Sharpe, who scored 25 points in the game. Former Boston Celtics guard J.R. Giddens added 20 points and 10 rebounds. The loss ends New Mexico's season at 20-30.

As the #1 overall seed for the playoffs, the Energy will be allowed to select their opponent for the 1st round of the playoffs from teams seeded 5-8 (Erie, Bakersfield, Utah & Texas). The selection will be made via conference call with the league Sunday evening, at which time the 1st round schedule will be set.

Tickets for the Energy's first home playoff games will go on sale Monday at 10 AM. To order tickets, visit www.IowaNBA.com, call 564-8550 or visit the arena box office.
