Enough Nolan

Barton is beast, I would let him do his thing at the point over Nolan. He did some things that really impressed me. Dude can hoop.

I caught the second half of last nights game, Nolan just couldn't buy a bucket. Plus his decisions are suspect.

Barton?

Carlito, you do realize that the Blazers bench just finished playing a fourth quarter against golden state starters and played them pretty well.

I know you are just trying to be a douche troll, but bad timing.

This. Our bench looked great last night.

I was under the impression that he's a SG/SF.

At 6'5" he's probably built more like a SG, but he's very effective as a guy who facilitates the offense. Other than Lillard, he's easily a better playmaker than anybody else on our roster (Price or Smith), regardless of position.

I was okay with Nolan trying out as a combo guard, but they've been playing him as a point guard again. He's not a point guard. Period. The guy doesn't make good decisions and he's not a play maker. That was the whole point of signing Ronnie Price. If Price is going to be out for a while, we need to find another point guard.

He's almost like a lesser version of Juan Dixon, small, not very athletic, insufficient PG skills. Smith better not be on the team next year. He should be a practice squad player, and let Coby Karl be the 3rd stringer.

Nolan Smith couldn't sniff Dixon's jock strap, and that's saying something. Dixon was a far superior scorer.

Well, if this draft pans out, as it looks like it may, I think we can say that Chad has redeemed himself from that epic fail last year. It's just kinda sad when the fans are all rooting for a guy to be taken, and the management who is paid to do what they do makes the wrong move.

Sinobas, that was your 2000th post.

Juan Dixon was our top clutch scorer before we got Roy. But he was what, 160 pounds, trying to play SG. He had the courage to take it inside, but not the weight to withstand the blowback from monstrous defenders in there. I liked him. He won a few games for us.

Not sure how much Chad redeemed himself as Olshey was running this year's draft. Who knows who Chad would have taken.

BNM

Ah, 2,000 posts, almost makes me want to never post again, I love round numbers! (maybe some of you would like that)

Olshay was hired a few weeks before the draft, so it's hard to tell whose input went into the picks. I think guys like Rice/Barret were saying Chad had a big role, maybe in part to help redeem him in the public eyes.

At least Raymond didn't have a long term contract, we seem to have our PGOF now, we'll have enough cap space next offseason to make an attractive offer to James Harden. It would be very nice to have Faried, but hopefully Hickson can regain some of that magic from last year.

I don't remember Juan as a clutch scorer, but more like Travis Outlaw, in that he could get hot/cold. He was a talented player for someone with his small size and mediocre athletisism.
