Shows how they can't sing without the studio changes in vocal tone, like most anyway.

If this is the video from that audio tape that was leaked out a few years ago and caused a bunch of controversy, then this is just a joke. If you didn't already know, an audio of enrique singing like that to that exact same song was circulated around the media. Anyways, Enrique went on the Howard Stern show to explain the tape (can't remember what he said exactly) and he then went on to sing that song live to prove that he's a legit talent. So he sings it, and proves that he actually CAN sing... Howard Stern ended up congratulating him on a job well done.

I know we all want to see another one of these mainstream "singers" being exposed, but sorry to say, this just isn't one of them.

I doubt he can actually sing, sorry. Most mainstream crap is fake anyhow, even the good ol' Chili Peppers singer uses that equipment to change his vocals, but he doesn't do it too much and doesn't use a tape to "sing" live. Which is why I still have some respect for em'.

^I hate mainstream music just as much as the next person, but I'll still give respect where respect is due... So for Enrique to prove himself on not only a live show, but a live show with probably the harshest critic of popular icons (Howard Stern) and left him very impressed, then that's saying a lot.

I mean, you probably won't see a lot of the more respected artists taking on a challenge like that....

You know that Howard Stern is one of the biggest paid off personalities in Radio, right? heh .. It is all deceiving. I would never believe anything on any of those shows, ever. Why I never watch TV aside from sports events, you know what I mean?

I realize why you're skeptic but I think you're being way too skeptical on a matter such as this. First and foremost, to make it in the music business when your singing is your main strength, you've got to be able to sing live...you just don't get record deals for no reason. So, lets assume that he "can't sing"...how is the live show explained then? Someone like Ashlee Simpson, I can understand why you wouldn't believ her. But the dude actually went on live and sang, so you have to give credit where credit is due. I doubt he'd be lip syncing on a talk show on the radio.

Honestly, even though it may seem like most of the acts of the mainstream pop stars are manufactured (they are in the image sense), the majority of them can definetly sing. Every single person from NSync, just to give an example, was a singer prior to being famous and each of them have singing backgrounds. some are better then others (example being Justin Timberlake), but they can all sing.

As for the vocalization, TRUST ME when I say that almost everyone's voice changes to an extent when thier vocals are mixed, without even enhancing them. Furthermore, the "voice enhancers" usually only correct the pitch of the vocals recorded, they don't neccesarily make your voice sound any better. An off tune recording cannot sound on-tune just because you enhance it digitally. I refuse to believe a multiplatinum artist who made it on his singing skills not only in English but also in Spanish can't sing a single note.

^exactly.... like I understand why ppl are annoyed with a lot of the mainstream artists out there, but sometimes ppl take the hate way too far. Not all of these artists lack vocal talent like J-Lo, Ashlee Simpson, or Hilary Duff. A lot of them, or actually the majority of them, really are talented. Avril Lavigne, Jojo, Christina Aguilera, Usher, or Enrique, as much as you may despise their songs or image, there's no denying that they can actually sing. And yeah, it's pretty damn hard to fake a live, unplugged performance without ppl realizing that it's a voice recording, so I also don't buy the idea that Stern was bribed in any way.

btw, I actually went on other sites where this video was posted and some of the ppl were saying that the guy who made the video just took a sample from the infamous audio tape and dubbed it in with that performance. I must admit though, it's pretty damn impressive... and had Enrique not already proven himself live, I would've easily fallen for it.

I would rather TRUST myself kiddo since I have my sources and my own experiences with this type of crap. I used to do some work for a band that recorded their music through a major label in Spain. Their vocal work was not changed. I've also worked as a bassist for two singers that were trying to make it as solo artists and both of their vocal works were altered during recordings because they can't sing through a little machine labeled hilariously as "the magic box." The reason they go solo and have such an easy time getting onto labels is the fact that they have looks. You don't have know how to sing what-so-ever as long as you have looks the record company will make you what they want to mold. You'd have to learn the ropes sometime if you ever get into the music biz. I quit playing bass, piano, etc for anyone because of these facts that most are just full of crap and lying scum. What's the point of making money off of something that is absolutely everything I'm against in the music world? There is none at all.

You can believe this guy is a real deal just for the fact he went onto a show and "sang," but I would never in my lifetime believe it. For one, people in Spain and France that have seen him live reported lip synching during all of his shows. Studio production is a lot different then being out there and seeing it for yourself. I'd rather believe what the guy's own fans or former fans have said or written that he's a fake rather then a horny pathetic jack off side show host who used to have a show about sexual positions with obese women and "little people."

Anyway now, that clip was meant to be funny not stir up any of you.

The clip seems well made if its fake. The clip was funny, just because of how horrible it sounds. I think a lot of people could sing as good as that.

In the end it doesn't matter too much if Enrique can sing or not, I'm not a fan of his anyway.
