Bring Back Eric Williams !

I loved Eric Williams.

Does he have anything left in the tank?

If he does, it sure doesn't look like it.

actually, on a per-minute basis, he was pretty good last year, for whatever that's worth.

He's 35 years old. He played for three very different coaches in Toronto, San Antonio and Charlotte and none of them wanted to play him. The Spurs traded him in a salary dump...thats how much they thought he could help them.

His defense even with the Nets had dropped off. He averaged 4 PF per game in the 21 games he played for the Nets. That should tell you something about him getting beaten to the basket.

He is a gentleman, a great man of the community, but it's likely over for him, at least in the NBA.

I love Eric Williams but he's done.

Linton Johnson I remember two years ago somebody in the media said he could be MIP. But so far he hasn't done too much.

i still wonder what he could do if he was given a really big chance. it looked like he could be really good with his first season in chicago. he's such a disappointment.

He got about 20 mpg in his first year in TO but he was kinda useless after that.

Eric Williams was pretty big for us, when Martin was gone, and Kidd was injured. I grew to like him, but now I don't see a point at even glancing at him.

As for Linton Johnson, it shouldn't even be recorded that he was with the Nets.

he didn't really do much for me. all i saw with eric williams was a guy who would eat up playing time, since there was pretty much no one else to play.

what i'd like to know is what happened to the other Eric Williams, the young big man.

USBL? what is that?

Jumaine Jones is a better choice than Eric Williams. Linton Johnson is interesting though.

Linton Johnson was interesting, but I'd say the best impact he had on the Nets is when he POOF turned himself into Boki Nachbar

He just didn't get the playing time. I remember he played quite well in New Orleans after the trade while Nachbar did a BRobon the bench. Of course, it'sobvious now that Nachbar is the better player. But it wouldn't surprise me if Linton Johnson show in a couple of yearsthe stuff that made the managements of New Jersey and San Antonio interested in him.

No he wasn't. He played decently for a terrible team. That's all. People treat him like he was a great, long time Nets fixture. He played 21 games with the team.

And the Celtics have passed on Williams and Johnson, signing Dahntay Jones and Estaban Batista instead.

Celtics are adding those players that can quite possibly give them the depth they need to add around their Big 3. Batista is a very good banger, dirty work, blue collar guy whom you love if he's on our side and hate if he's on the other. This should be a better pickup than the Pollard signing.

The Pollard signing still confuses me. These past 2 signings make much more sense, hell, i'd love to have either on the Nets, if there was any room.
