ESPN’s news coverage of the game last night was all about LeBron’s dunk. Lost in all the hullabaloo was the tiny little fact that Portland extended its league-leading win streak and is the hottest team in the NBA.

I hate ESPN and their ridiculous so-called news stories, and their platform for that idiot Stephen A. Smith and all the rest of those clowns.

There is a easy way to deal with this... DON'T WATCH that crap!
I've intentionally gone to other sources for my sports news. It's so much better.

ESPN panders to what they know will generate conversation. I don't blame them in the least - as it's a smart business decision.
I can't stand it & thus refuse to watch their $#!% show.

Like S2!!!!

I havent watched anything ESPN unless its a replay of a college baseball game or something that has low viewerability or doesn't show a game just to talk about something other than the game. The replay tab on watchespn.com is awesome for finding the non-spin type of games.

even nba tv last night was talking about the cavs losing more-so than the blazers winning 11 in a row. hell, they are giving more coverage to toronto and their streak is less than ours. and look who we have beat in our streak!

Just curious why any fan cares if the Blazers are being talked about nationally? If it was college football or a sport where you need to be recognized nationally to get into the playoffs then I could understand but in the NBA only your record matters.

I kind of like when they stay under the radar.

Because its nice to be recognized?

Being talked about as being great goes a long ways towards confidence boosting. Not saying we are lacking in confidence, but it sure cant hurt.

Because national exposure/recognition arguably has an impact on other players' interest/desire in playing here in the future.

They play baseball in college? What do you know!

Am I crazy for thinking that dunk really wasn't that spectacular? I guess it amplifies because LeBron is so old now, but it really wasn't something that wowed me.

It was the power and quickness. I had to rewind to watch it cause at first I thought he tossed it up and missed it it happened so quick.

You think a tomahawk jam is unreal? Why?

This is unreal

This is unreal

This is unreal

What LeBron did was not "unreal."

Glad google is working...... LeBron's dunk last night was SPECTACULAR! Plain and simple. To not see that is you letting your hate for him and the NBA as a whole blind you. Ask NBA players what they thought about it. CJ was still talking about it walking to his car last night.

it was a great dunk.

but the best dunk i ever saw live (not at the game but you know)...

might have just been the atmosphere but that shit was loud. Its not all about how tech it is or whatever, you just know it when you see it.

I don't hate LeBron. I'd love to have him. The dunk was average. It's probably not even in the top 10 for this season. It was a running tomahawk. Can you not win the argument without attacking me?

Not attacking you. I just know how much you hate the league is all. And I am completely confused as to how anybody could see that dunk as "average". Average dunks by anybody don't get this much pub. That dunk was nasty and would be our Dunk of the year. I've seen 10 plus angles of everyone we've had.

I'm sure it would be our dunk of the year, because we don't really have any dunkers on this team. But to me, there were other dunks in the NBA that were better.

I hate the NBA corporation. I don't hate the players or the teams. I hate the management and the way that the league is refereed. It's a business, and when I look around at other pro leagues, I don't see the same problems that I see with the NBA.

How was it any better than any of the dunks in this video from this season?

That was amazing. Matt Barnes was crying because he couldn't believe what his teammate had just done.

So other players only get their information on how other teams are doing based on how many highlights Sports Center shows of us? Like mentioned elsewhere in this thread doing damage in the playoffs gets that attention, not highlights.
