I logged in just in time to see Turiaf put up a baseline shot that was very high and Batum came from the back side and grabbed the overshot and put back a two handed slam in one motion. Awesome!

Update: France leading by only 2 (50-48) at the end of three quarters.

Nic has 10pts, 5rebs, 1ast, 3to on 4/5FG in 22 minutes of action. Turiaf is leading the team with 15p/11r, but his FT shooting is killing the team (3/7). Parker has been largely nonexistent.

That was quite possibly the worst first half of any basketball game I have ever watched. I swear, my mediocre intramural team is better than these two squads.

Score @ halftime is 21-16 Latvia. France has shot 7/30 from the field. Latvia, 7/27. Nic hasn't done anything. Ali Traore has scored pretty much all of France's points.

Batum really came alive towards the end. Nice block & a lot of hustle type rebounds that were important for France to keep possession to run down the clock. It's weird how he could be so uninvolved in the 1st half then become such a factor at the end.

Nic has a lot to prove too. Like he really needs tos how he can score at the NBA level. Martell was doing fine on defense before he went out, but on top of it, he was scoring above 10 points a game. When the playoffs come around this year, we can't have 2 out of 5 players in the starting unit being a doughnut on the scoreboard again.
