It started yesterday. A lot of good players aren't there (Batum, Parker, Gobert, Teodosic, Jokic, Nowitzki, Bjelica, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Gallinari, et al) but some intriguing younger players will be (notably probably top-5 pick next year, Luka Doncic, but also Dennis Schröder, Porzingis, Saric, Bender and Lauri Markkanen). As you might guess, France is weaker this year and in fact lost in OT to hosts Finland (for whom Markkanen was the star).
Results so far:
DAY ONE:
Slovenia beat Poland (Goran Dragic got 30)
Germany beat Ukraine (Schröder got 32)
Greece beat Iceland (former Blazer-to-be Printezis got 17)
Georgia upset Lithuania (Kuzmingas got 18)
Finland upset France (Makkanen got 22)
Italy crushed Israel (Casspi and Bellinelli both got 18)

DAY TWO:
Belgium beat GB (sob)
Croatia beat Hungary (BoJan Bogdanovic (the Wiz one) got 23)
Serbia beat Latvia (BoGDan Bogdanovic (Suns have rights) got 30, Porzingis 18)
Spain beat Montenegro (Sergio got 10 assists and Rubio 5 steal both in about 20 mins, W. Hernangomez led Spain in scoring)
Couple more games to come.

Had to double check--Bogdan's rights went to the Kings, and they're bringing him over this year.
Kings are going to surprise people. I bet they have a winning home record this year. (Not because of Bogdanovic, but that's just one more solid move they've made.)

I've been saying the same. I wouldn't pick them as a playoff team, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them push .500.

Meh, I think Sac is gonna be garbage. Who's gonna score on that team?

1. You could say that about Utah.
2. Z-BO!!!
3. George Hill was a respectable scorer last year. Buddy Hield does nothing BUT score.

I don't expect George Hill to stay healthy though.

I will say that about Utah.

Z-Bo won't average 20PPG so who cares. :dunno:

Buddy is OK....

Are Joel Freeland and Victor Claver playing? Rudy Fernandez?

No, no, no. All because of injuries I think.

Not even Khryapa or Monia are playing (they may have retired!)

BUT: Papanikolaou is playing for Greece, and Petteri Kopononen for Finland...

Thomas Heurtel

Heurtel, De Colo, Fournier, Lauverne, Diot, Leo Westermann - France is a lot whiter this year.

Okay, that's better. Heurtel is pretty good. Thought it would be Diot because coach loves him

Still remember this dagger to upset Spain in the world cup !

Saw that live with my family, it was great

Lauri Markkanen has eclipsed Blazers-that-never-was Petteri Koponen as Finland's best player. Lest you think this is no big deal, he's also one of the leading scorers in the tournament so far:

Wonder what this means for Chicago's interest in re-signing Nikola Mirotic.
