Every team needs an enforcer, AKA Draymond Green

Nobody needs a Draymond.

Everyone needs a donkey.

The difference between an enforcer and guys like Draymond and Laimbeer is that an enforcer doesn't instigate or initiate. Enforcers respond. They protect their teammates. Most of the good ones are actually pretty quiet.
Portland has had some good one's over the years, too. Pryzbilla, Brian Grant, Lucas, Kersey. I thought Zack Collins was taking on that role before he left. They don't have to be the biggest, they just have to be big enough to be taken seriously. Nobody is afraid of the Chihuahua yapping at your heels. But, have a guy in your lineup like Steven Long and even the biggest dirt balls like Draymond and Cousins will think twice before starting anything.

Green isn't an enforcer, he's a dirty cheap shot artist. If the Blazers had drafted him, and he behaved the way he has during his career, I would be ashamed of having him on my team. Green is a shit stain on the NBA. My experience with other Blazers fans makes me confident the vast majority of us would detest his antics.
As a matter of fact my uncle who lives in Petaluma and is an avid Warrior fan absolutely hates Green. Has wanted him off the team for years. I can believe that a number of fans in Portland would also want him gone.

He might be nearing the back half of his career, but I believe the perfect enforcer for the Blazers would be John Wick.

Doubt Wick would want to play in the NBA. Because the enforcing of the "code of conducting business" rules are too corrupt.

He is the Bill Laimbeer of this era. Cheap shot artist. Can't square off with anyone, just a punk ass bitch. As with Laimbeer, nobody would shed a tear if he was hit by a bus crossing the street.

Green is every bit the intentional wrecking ball Bruce Bowen was, only with offensive skills.

I see a distinct difference between getting in a guy's grill on defense and sucker punching someone after having your back to them or kicking someone in the nuts or choking out someone on a court. If two big guys square off and throw punches I can live with that...to sucker punch/kick/bite someone is in a whole other ballpark. I don't want Draymond around my team at all at this point and for years I did want him here.

"I hope he gets the help he needs..."

He's been an intentional cannonball his entire career. Now all the sudden he has emotional issues? Shut the fuck up.
I hear ya. This is way past “He needs help”. That was 3 or 4 episodes ago.

Yeah, I'm all for giving people a chance but dude's game has been eroding and instead of getting more mature with age he's become almost unimaginably dirtier.

Now, I think that if the league tells him that if he assaults one more NBA player that they'll send him packing for good, we might and I stress might see an end to Draymond's abhorrent cheap shots. We'll see but I think the solid money would be on Dray cheapshotting someone within a season from when he is allowed to return.

He's toast. I hope after he retires he spends some of his millions on therapy. I don't want anything to do with him. Never did.

He certainly won't be able to get away with all his dirty shit anymore. That's most of who he is as a player. It will be interesting to see how his identity on the court changes and if he can stick with it.

He's a hero in Michigan from his college days...watch him go play with Dame there now.
