Satoshi Kanazawa, a London-based evolutionary psychologist , unleashed a firestorm onto the Web this week when he posted an article on the Psychology Today website citing why black women are less physically attractive than others. According to Kanazawa, testosterone is on average more present in Africans; thus, “the lower average level of physical attractiveness among black women.”
This is the same man who claimed beautiful people have more daughters—which in my experience has been the exact opposite (one ugly parent + another ugly parent = pretty daughter). With that said, I am not sure the article was as racist as it was searching for significance. Kanazawa is known for his interest in physical attraction and race, put together almost any “findings” are recipe for disaster. The study insists that physical attractiveness is a measure of genetic and developmental health; and, since Africans have existed much longer in evolutionary history they have more mutations in their genomes than other races. Therefore, generationally mutated black women are ugly.
