You think maybe NY would hire him, isn't Cheney's job in jeapordy, he would be the perfect mentor for Sweetney also.

I don't think Big Pat is gonna be head coachin' material. I had heard he had alot of trouble tryin' to get his points across to Brendan Haywood and Kwame Brown on the wizards. I may be totally wrong,but that's my gut feelin'..if he does get a coachin' gig I hope he does well.

I don't want to see Pat coach in NY, for multiple reasons.

1. He already doesn't get the respect that he deserves as a player. This is due partially to the fact that he had unsuccessful stints in Sea-town, and Orlando. If he was to fail as a coach in NY, that would another detriment to his rep there.

2. If Ewing was to coach in NY and the team did well, Marbury and Houston would get all the credit. I realize that coaches rarely get props, but I would rather see Pat coach a young team that is struggling, and help them play better.

3. I have never thought it appropriate for players to coach the teams that they once played for, especially if the team was successful in their day. Coaches then resort to trying to make things the way they were, losing the respect of players.

He was teaching Kwame, but Kwame's confidence was rock bottome because of MJ and Doug Collins, Ewing did teach him some nice post moves though. Haywood is just stubborn, i think he could be a decent head coach, he has played the game, he knows what is needed to win.

I think Patrick would be a good for the Knicks. Well, I think he does better than Chaney.

I think that Ewing would be good and delighted to coach in NYC, and i think that he would do better than Chaney.. They should get a new coach in like 5 games if Chaney doesnt turn things aroung.. Ewing would be the one they should take for the position.

I do not think Don Chaney's job is in jeopardy at all, even if the Knicks lose every single game this month. The fact of the matter is the Knicks team that we saw play all of this week is not the same Knicks team we will see playing one month from now and Isiah knows that the Knicks will not turn into a dominant team overnight, regardless of any trades that he makes.

If the Knicks turn into a losing team throughout the entire season, then yes of course Chaney's job will be in jeopardy, but as of this moment it's not.

As far as Pat goes, I would not be surprised at all if he became the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks either later this season or next season, because that is exactly what the Hawks need right now. If anyone is going to be able to turn around the Hawks, it's going to be Pat.
