Expect to hear a lot of Aldridge to GS rumors

GS can't trade apick, now, after their Utah deal

Would it be out of the question to propose Aldridge and Matthews for Lee, Barnes, Thompson and a pick?

No only would that be completely lospided, the Warriors can't trade a first round pick until 2019, I beleive.

They trade 2014 and 2017 today, so 2015 or 2016 would mean they wouldn't have a first for 2 consecutive years.

I would just like to point out that I was talking about Lee + Barnes + Thompson like.... three days ago? lol

I think now that Howard is off the board, the Dubs will be looking to make a big splash and I think Aldridge is the guy they want.

I wouldn't even need a pick to accept that deal.

Nope.

Sorry, but if GS wants Aldridge who is young and better than Lee, they need to do both Thompson and Barnes. I would include Matthews if it was needed, but honestly I think Matthews and Klay are a wash. Matthews is currently better, but I think Klay will probably be better in the long run. They just seem so similar though.

OK, shoot. Forget the pick from you guys. We'll ship you a 2nd rounder. ;)

I don't agree that Matthews is currently better. Klay is 3.5 years younger, and went from a 12 ppg last year to 16 ppg. While Matthews has averaged 16 ppg in '11, 13 ppg in '12, and 15 ppg in '13. I think we have seen Matthews at his best.

Aldridge, Matthews, and Claver

for

Lee, Thompson, and Barnes.

Picks negotiable.

Do we really want Lee's contract, though?

This guy just last season was claimed better than Aldridge by Charles Barkley.

Lee went from allstar to fucked up contract for an over the hill player

If it included Thompson and Barnes... yes.

I would see if they would do it for Aldridge/Freeland first.

Lillard/McCollum
Thompson/Matthews
Batum/Barnes
Lee/Robinson
Lopez/Leonard

That's a crazy athletic, and mostly very young team. Very bright future with Lillard, CJ, Barnes, TRob, Klay, and Leonard. That team can shoot, drive, and defend. I think we make the playoffs, even without Aldridge.

And even if we had to include Matthews, I don't think it hurts that much. Just slot Crabbe as the backup.

Check the advanced stats my brutha.

They are comparable, but Matthews who has been in the league 4 years, Klay just completed his sophomore year, and 3.5 years younger. Are you saying you wouldn't trade Klay for Matthews straight up?

No, pretty sure I said "honestly I think Matthews and Klay are a wash. Matthews is currently better, but I think Klay will probably be better in the long run."

If you look at their advanced stats, Matthews has a higher win share, he has a higher offensive rating, and a higher eFG%. Offensively, he's currently better than Klay. Defensively, Klay is actually a little better than Matthews. Like I said, I think they're a wash if you factor in Thompson's youth.

That frontline is incredibly weak on D (especially the 4/5 spots). Teams would feast on them.

Fair enough. I actually thought Klay was a much better three point shooter than Matthews, but numbers never lie.

I thought Klay was much better than he actually is. His PER sucks, his offensive efficiency sucks, and he barely outscores Matthews while taking two more shots per game and having a higher usage rating. But, like you said, he's quite a bit younger, and he's actually a better defender than Wes (which surprised me).

Not enough minutes to go around.

finally on the same page. :MARIS61:

we have leverage and time. GS needs to get one more piece to be a serious threat and that's an elite PF.

I would love that deal.... not sure if they'd do it.
Me as well which Is why I suggested it. It's similar to the whole James Harden and Ibaka idea that was floating around here a year ago except Vucevic is an offensive threat.

with team improvements the next two years we'll be fine. its not like its impossible to trade guys, look what teams have done.

Expect to hear a lot of Aldridge to GS rumors. Just a hunch

like most rumors I expect they'll turn out to be nothing much to the chagrin of those fans who are constantly pining for any trade. Lee for LA as the primary guys being swapped is a big loss for PDX... Lee is helpless on D
