Extensions for Rolo or Wes?

I wonder if Neil will offer them 3 year extensions in July? They fit great with our team. Signing them now when there are no other teams bidding could avoid putting ourselves in a bind where we have to make a bad decision to over pay or a worse decision to walk for nothing.

The downside to doing an extension now is they could have a major injury next season. Either guy could also have an underperforming season where they regress in which case we might've overpaid. The team would also lose the salary cap flexibility to bring in major free agents or overhaul the starting lineup.

I don't think we will be able to use potential cap space for a better player next summer, the stud free agents are going to NY or LA or somewhere. So if Neil can get Wes or Rolo to agree on a reasonable amount now I'd like to have them locked up long term.

Right? If it makes no sense for LaMarcus, it probably makes no sense for anyone. And why extend when you don't know what horrors await us next season? We'll always be able to offer them the most come RFA time.

Both RoLo and Wes will be UFAs after next season. They aren't eligible for RFA contracts.

The team could lock in a lower price.

Next summer we will have to give LaMarcus a big contract, give Lillard a rookie extension which I imagine will be the max and be entering the final year of Batum's contract. If we can save just a few million with Rolo and or Wes it could help give the team some room to get all these deals done. Rolo and Wes might like the security of additional years on their contracts and both are guys I have no fear of poor work ethic.
