Nonsense. Trade him for Greg Monroe and some scrubs.

Would you trade him for a young SAR?

Seems like this team did that already and it turned out to be a monumental failure. I still dream of the success if we had Wallace at center and Zach starting pf.

One scout's take on how to stop Aldridge's jumper one-on-one: "You don't. You just hope his muscle memory falls asleep."
Or you let him shoot it, because there's a better chance he'll miss it than make it.
Although I must admit, he has REALLY improved his mid-range shooting this year. Still, I'd never make a wager on him hitting from that 18' range he likes so much. There's a reason that nobody goes out to guard him on the pick/pop.

But the key stat is his ability to make it out there. Of course most of his damage is 5-10 feet from the basket, but having a versitle game opens the others you suggest.

BTW, players are jumping out at him on the pick and pop. I don't know where you are getting this information from.

I was chastised on here for thinking a Greg Monroe, Singler and filler would be a good trade for the Blazers. Monroe has better numbers almost across the board and is 5 years younger and light years better defensively.

I think he might be available as Monroe and Drummond's game kinda replicates each other.

Maybe the Blazers an swap Lillard for Knight as well

I thought the idea was to trade better players for worse players.

By the time Monroe's 27 years old he'll have multiple AS appearances. He's already just as good as Aldridge.

How are Monroe's hands? Does he bobble the ball every other time he catches it?

Lmao dude! First off your major complaint is Aldridge's defense, yet Aldridge is statistically a better defender. Aldridge is currently a two time all star and probably more likely to be one next season.

Monroe hasnt made the allstar game. Maybe he will, maybe he wont. But he definitely isnt one now.

Also monroe is on a team with one of the worst records in the league. That, in itself, proves that an aldridge led team is better than a monroe led team.

Actually MZ was complaining about LA's PER and shooting % falling off earlier this season. Now that those are back up to his normal excellent levels he's clearly just complaining out of habit. Back in the day he was laughing at me for favoring him over Ammo in a long running back and forth we had...I think that's where the hate comes from

STOMP

Actually, a Lillard-led team is better than a Knight-led team. And don't get too high and mighty about being better than DET - we're only 4.5 games ahead of them, and appear to be in free-fall. ;)

Monroes defensive stats are better. What are you talking about?

Whichever way you look at it, Monroe and Aldridge are very similar players. The biggest difference between them is their age. If Monroe played alongside Lillard and Batum and even Matthews and Hickson it stands to reason that he'd be even more efficient than he is now.

The biggest difference between them is Aldridge demands a double team

Anyone that thinks Monroe = Aldridge should stop making basketball opinions.

There's also the part where any trade for Monroe could/should really include Maggette's expiring, opening up an extra ~10mil in cap space. More than enough to sign a Millsap or J.Smith to replace Aldridge at the 4 with a bunch of money left to fill out the bench.

Quality > quantity

Monroe/Millsap > LMA/Any other C we could get via FA

The record argument doesn't hold water either. How many wins did Aldridge lead his team to when he was 22?

The raw data suggests otherwise.
