For Matt Dillon's sidekick, I used to watch Chester (played by Dennis Weaver until 1964). I hear that later, Festus (Ken Curtis) played the sidekick. The show went on for about a generation more. Then another generation passed and it was shown in reruns. Then you started wearing diapers. Then you got old and watched some reruns.

I've heard of this Johnny-come-lately Festus but it was eons after my time...you use him as an example of what you think is ancient history? You probably don't even remember when we all had big sharp teeth.

"I still have most of mine, but all that raw meat didn't help."

Whew! I got that in before you could! You are slow in your old age, FAMS!

Walked away from the computer, then thought, "Fuck! He's going to nail me on a teeth-on-the-bedside-nightstand joke!"

I can still sprint to the computer, fast!

You like anyone with a foreign sounding name that's ever looked at a basketball.
nah...Rasta doesn't really follow the Asians or South Americans....just the Euro guys pretty much but hey....I'm glad someone pays attention to them around here!!

May 22 !
When I saw the question, I thought, Ezeli. Then I saw that there was a slot to vote for him. I thought I'd have to write him in. He was good in the playoffs, but not especially before, so the rest of the league hasn't noticed him as much as we have. So we have a higher chance than with more famous centers. He's just big, which is the main quality we miss at center, not shooting. We need a center who can body big men, as he did to ours, including Plumlee. Just plain size.

Each year, Olshey strikes out on his big free agent, then signs underrated ones. Our big men are pushed around inside. We need size. Ezeli bodied Plumlee like he's a kid. So I voted that Olshey will succeed in getting Ezeli because he's obtainable. I didn't say that Ezeli will be his first choice on July 1.

I pick Ezeli. I think we've no shot at Whiteside, Biyombo will be way overpriced, I wouldn't touch Howard if he offered to pay his own way, and Ezeli actually has pretty impressive "rim protection".

A decisive win! 37 days earlier!

So, back to Festus: is he a lemon?

I don't consider him a lemon because we knew what we were getting into when we signed him. When we signed him, I literally had no expectation for him, and I knew we may never see him actually play (especially after the reports about his knees came out when big men, like Mozgov, were getting paid big bucks and he was still standing on the sideline of free agency).

be nice if the Blazers could provide a more in depth description of Festus's knee issue and what was expected after the injection and how his progress has been so far

Why? When he's ready to play they'll tell us.

Ezeli is no Roy but this organization loves keeping us in the dark when it comes to injuries. Same happened with Oden. "Oden is doing much better, he will be back on the court in no time", "oh yeah, roy is fine, he is just getting some treatment and will be back". It's kinda ridiculous actually. "Festus will be fine, he is on schedule.". Then today it comes out he is way behind schedule and that they got him more for spring as opposed for winter. Not to mention the whole reason we got him at the price we got him was because of his knees but once again that was denied until spears or stein, one of those guys revealed it indeed was because of his knee issues

I thought it was kind of a no brainer that Festus was brought in more for the playoff run then during the regular season. It's why we have so many centers on the roster. We can win a lot of the winnable games during the regular season without festus. But come playoff time we need a defensive stopper in the paint to make up for Dame and CJ.

No sense rushing Ezeli back so he can get hurt in January against the Magic.
