A darkhorse candidate: Tobias Harris.

He's a black hole and a bit of a tweener but I forgot just how young he is: 22!

Though, he is asking for the max.
Literally mentioned him 4 posts up. If LA leaves and Love goes back to CLE he'd be my number one option. The kid has never been on a winning team, so the concerns about him being a black hole may be overblown. Would fit great info Stotts' offense and is pretty much an exact fit for the NBA's future 4.

Portland lets Rolo walk...Mason Plumlee will be the starting center next year.

Portland keeps Crabbe, signs rookies Connaughton and Diez

Goes after DeMare Carroll who signs with the Mavericks

Orlando Sign and trades Tobias Harris for Henderson and Kaman with a future draft pick/or cash considerations.

With Dallas paying Parson big money last years, are they really interested in going after another SF? I guess they could play them together, but I would think they would focus on someone else.

I do like the Tobias Harris idea, although I fear we will lose LMA and Wes and just offer Harris a max deal.
If Neil thinks Harris will fit in with the other young players, I would not mind seeing a Dame, CJ, Harris, Vonleh, Plumlee, Leonard nucleus. Surround them with some vets and you have some hope for the future.

If LMA leaves I think the focus should be on overpaying a young SF free agent and go young. Not sure if that is Harris or someone else. But Neil would have one year to evaluate the core, while keeping some flexibility to add a missing piece next summer when the cap goes up. Get the young players to recruit for us. We would take a step back, but one more free agent next summer could turn things around. Or maybe we just need to add depth........

I wish LMA was loyal like gasol is to the grizz you never hear not one rumor about him leaving.

Mind you grizz are getting older, Zbo, Tony Allan, plus they never do much in the playoffs other than 1st or 2nd round exits but Marc Gasol REALLY wants to retire the best grizz ever.. Damn shame

Remember last year how everyone was convinced that Bosh was going to Houston?

Sometimes where there is smoke, it's just smoke and not a fire. And sometimes the smoke is unexpected.

Be careful with Tobias Harris. Arron afflalo put up big numbers and was close to being an all star with the magic. On a good team (ours) people railed on him and thought he was horrendous. Harris is young, but I'm skeptical of giving max money to guys putting up big numbers on terrible teams

With that being said, I could see Evan turner. As a cheap under the radar guy Olshey could go for

as starting SF?
Perhaps. But I see him more likely moving Henderson in an absorbing deal, then getting a guy like turner at sg. Turner could handle the ball some letting dame play off the ball more

LMA bolts:
Lakers -- Rumor is they are prepared to offer him 4yr/$80m deal. Lives in Orange County. I feel they are the favorites. ElPrez looses his shit.
Knicks -- They're a darkhorse - With Carmelo aging I feel Phil will try to work a s&t. Their media guys, as unrealistic as it may be, still talk LMA or Gasol.

Wesley Matthews doesn't receive an offer from the Blazers:
$15m/per and 29 years old -- wants to be more than just a 3rd option. Mutually parts ways.

RoLo walks:
Celtics -- I believe he'll be their #1 target.
Knicks -- If they strike out they'll look at RoLo as they need a center. Rumored to have interest.

Here's the question. Will LA be signed outright or will his agent be semi working for Olshey and Blazers and getting them some sort of compensation for their loss? If I'm going to lose LA, I'd love to at least get something out of it.

Id take Turner at SF for 15 min off the bench, but not starting. He's not a good defender and he's a bad shooter. Hendo can do both and handle the ball a little.

LBJ opt out. Love says he wants to come back to Cleveland. How are the Cavs able to keep love and LBJ since they don't have bird on LBJ?

Lebron is probably forcing the cavs to get rid of love.

On Nate Duncan's Dunc'd on Podcast, they mentioned the possibility of PDX going after Crowder and Shumpert, with Iman at a pricetag of 7-9M and Crowder at 6-7M. If LA leaves and we need to rebuild, a lineup of:

Lillard/Shumpert/Crowder/Tobias Harris/Plumlee with CJ/Henderson/Leonard/Vonleh off the bench is a youthful team that can grow together for a year or two, yet is bad enough to miss playoffs and retain our pick. That SL is entirely built around 22-25 year olds and would all be on bargain contracts for the next year or two.

Crowder at $6-7M? Hell no. Play Harris at the 3 and start Meyers with Vonleh as backup
-Lillard/Shump/Harris/Leonard/Plumlee
--CJ/Henderson/Vonleh/Kaman

Kaman can mentor Vonleh and Plumlee like he did Meyers

That has to be one of the most puke propelling ideas I've seen to date.

The article implies that he would have interest if it weren't for Pau, which means he'll have interest elsewhere

That would seem to indicate to me that Henderson isn't necessarily in our plans. Hemight be option D for starting sg.
I think it's likely CJ is backup PG/SG and Henderson is backup SG/SF
