Notice FAA warns passengers not to use Samsung smartphone after reports of devices catching fire

I have no real knowledge of how computers work whatsoever. I also don't understand the technology or how the $300,000 machine I use at work, works. I don't know how to change the oil in my car.
That said, I can drive the fuck out of my car and I kill it at work!
I know what I want out of a device and put myself in the best situation to succeed when using one. I have an iPhone, Apple watch, iPad Pro and a MacBook Air. At home we have an iMac. My wife and two kids each have iPhones and iPads and we have two apple tvs running at the house. I have CarPlay in my car as well the syncs to my phone.
I know that when we send a message, picture, video or we add something to a calendar, it goes everywhere and we are all on the same page, no sweat. I also know that my wife and kids completely understands how this works.
I'm sure you can do the aforementioned things on an Android device, but the system we have set up is so damn simple and easy for us to use.
NEVER have had an issue with any aspect of our system.
Apple products are PERFECT for people like myself who want to do EVERYTHING, but know NOTHING.
Never did quite understand the hate that the android users have towards apple people and the other way as well.
Find what you like and use it.

This is exactly why my wife loves Apple products. She is not a computer person. Whereas I am. But I hate troubleshooting or messing around with my own stuff. I do enough of that crap at work. So when I get home I want stuff to 'just work"

Last line is well said. :)

And one other thing......I don't ever crack on people when I see they have an Android. But I get them busting on me all the time. And you know what their main crack is....they look at my phone and laugh and tell me that it sucks because I can't "Change" the battery!
What? Is that supposed to be a good thing?
Never quite understood that.

I got an S4 soon after it came out and I still use it. I'm probably going to upgrade soon but I have had a wonderful experience with the S4 so I'll certainly get another Samsung phone. I've never had a problem with any of the things you listed.. I use google's messaging app for texts and its great. I don't remember the faces thing but I guess it's possible it happened, that's just not something that would bother me. I also don't remember the music playing audibly when getting a text, just that it stops for a second to play the text tone. I've also had many friends that have iPhones marvel at my speaker quality and screen responsiveness, so I definitely don't understand that complaint, but to each his own.

The music doesn't play, it just stops the music playing in my headphones and plays the text message audibly out the phone speakers. Which is really fucking annoying when you're at the gym and your wife is texting you non-stop about work stuff... :)

The speaker quality is pretty good, but I believe my Iphone was better, hell it's been 2+ years without it so I don't remember; other than it was a pain point.
Also the faces thing is when someone calls you, it pops up this like 'default' picture on the screen

Anyway sorry about the big picture, just wanted to show you what I hated; I just felt like this OS was super unattractive.

Well, I guess it's a good thing they can change their battery, because themshits exploding!! :)

Nope, one reason people are pissed at Samsung. Biting them in the ass right about now. I can change my Note4 battery in under a minute and have 50gb of music on a SD card. I believe the Note7 has SD capability.

Changing the battery is awesome. I have 2 extra batteries, they fit in my coin pocket in my jeans. Don't have to worry about taking a power brick or conserving my battery.

My main problem is that the iphone is so fucking expensive. Also, I can't clear the cache for some of my streaming apps when they get huge I have to delete then add the program back again.

I use iOS with an ipad, its fine, I don't have anything bad to say, but I pretty much use the apple and the android ecosystems interchangeably and not really much of a difference.

The main thing is the battery though, at least for me. If you travel and use walking naviation, your battery drains very fucking fast and I hate having to have a portable battery charger attached to my phone inside my pocket.

Yeah, hopefully they lower the prices or you can find all the refurbished ones for cheap.

I have a portable battery charger. It would recharge my iPhone 5 up to six times on a charge. I used it a lot.

Since I got the 6s, I haven't needed to recharge it on the go. The battery life is impressive. The 7 has even longer battery life.

I have 3 seasons of ER on my 128GB iPad. Six seasons or more would fit on a 256GB iPhone 7. No extra memory card needed.

I have a 64GB iPad Pro and am not even close to using all the storage.

I have an S6, an S4, and android tablets. Neat for a change, but not convenient for my use. My iMessages show up on all my devices. Not on the android devices.

ER the TV show? So you need a brand new phone to watch a 20yr old TV show.

Okay....

That is gross. But that isn't an android issue, it's Samsung's dialer. Unfortunately, for most people, Samsung's software is synonymous with Android.

Okay....

Go find it to stream.

It was filmed in high enough resolution that it looks great in HD. And it's a great show.

Just how high of a resolution do you need to watch it on your iphone?

Fingers crossed that your iphone 10 will be able to hold your Murder She Wrote collection.

It's on my iPad, which is 2k x 1536

I can watch it on my TV, too.

iTunes. All my stuff on all my devices.

iOS10 out today.

iMessages got a huge bump in features and look.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ER_(TV_series)

ER was filmed in 1.78:1 widescreen from the start, even though it was not broadcast in widescreen until the seventh season when it began appearing in the 1080i HD format.[citation needed] Since the sixth episode of season 7, it has appeared in letterbox format when in standard definition. As a result, the U.S. DVD box set features the widescreen versions of the episodes, including those episodes originally broadcast in 1.33:1 (full frame) format. The episodes also appear in 1080i widescreen when rerun on TNT HD, though the first six seasons still run in full frame 1.33:1 on the digital TNT network. Only the live episode "Ambush" at the beginning of the fourth season and the title sequence for the first six seasons are in standard 4:3 aspect ratio.

Murder She Wrote? I always took him as more of a Golden Girls kinda guy.
