Nice narrative you have there.

Its not even the platform, the users on the left went totally apeshit after Trump won.

I'm sure this will be studied some time in the future.

Trump wins.

Left goes batshit insane. Unfriends people who voted for Trump. Anyone mentions Trump, they start piling on them like fucking crazy.

People on the right don't like being in such a toxic environment, stop engaging on facebook.

Nevermind. The video is biased as hell and shouldn't be counted on for any kind of real information. It's exactly what a banned Youtuber would post. I'm done with this shit.
I get that the guy banned might be biased, why wouldn't he be?

Facebook can ban fans of German cars or Ferris Wheels....their platform. I get that.

Why do you think this guy in this video should be banned? I don't follow him, I've seen him on YouTube once or twice.

I couldn't pick Lara Loomer out of a lineup. I've heard of her, that's about it on her. What did she do?

I mentioned here that I watched some Farrakhan videos and found myself chanting "yeah, fuck the Mexican Jews" and had to stop watching. That guy is an amazing speaker. Felt like I was in a trance for a moment. That dude is straight up hate, he was saying how Jews spread out all over the world and start running shit.

I don't think any of the people banned have advocated anything illegal.

Like I said, they can ban anyone they want...they still look like fascists even if you agree that these people are distasteful.

I find it kind of odd that you are calling Facebook fascists for banning fascists.

Being anti-bigot is, itself, bigotry. This is a pretty common sentiment on the right.
So, you're bigoted against bigots, eh. Typical Leftist. You probably want health care for all and a decent minimum wage. Well, fuck you, we've got Trump and Fox News.

I find it odd that people defend censorship even if it is perfectly legal to do it.

Why is that odd? Do you believe you have the right to bar people from saying and doing what they like on your property? If so, why are you so pro-censorship?

This is definitely how they troll us and control the narrative.
Control the narrative? Who runs all these big tech companies that we're talking about?

My fascist tendencies would be to murder every memeber of Westboro Baptist church for the shit they do.

My logical side wants them out in the open for all to see and laugh at.

What I'd be much happier to see is some legal way to catch these psycho school/church shooters that meet in dark corners of the internet.

Those are the real threats.

I'm down with your goals. The thing is though that a lot of the people that just got banned are largely responsible for violent shooter attacks. Sure, they didn't do those things themselves, but they played up the rhetoric that fed the unwell. Of course they act appalled like that would happen after the fact .

I do have that right. I said Facebook has the same right.

I also believe a baker should have the right to not make a cake for a gay couple.

I believe people should boycott a bakery that does that.

My house and Facebook inviting a billion people to their website so they can make money are two different things.

They have become the modern public square, my house hasn't.

Like you, the only internet discussion that I object to is that which leads to illegal and violent action such as the overthrow of our government. Planning a robbery would be another great example or influencing our election by a foreign adversary.

Social Media blackouts + Russian Collusion Hoax = Rile up the Base.

Every situation is different from every other, you just choose to place your censorship line at a different place. That hardly makes anyone who places their line in a different place a fascist. Should Disneyland allow neo-Nazis to stand in the middle of their park and scream racial epithets? Would removing them be "censorship" since they are a public attraction that invites people in, in order to make money?

I think there's a lot more shades of gray to this issue than you tend to allow for when you discuss it.
