I see a lot of bright minds on this board, and I figure that if we clear out all the veteran players who did fine on other teams, and get a new owner who will take orders from the new GM and hand over the reduced fortune he has left after ruining himself financing Pritchard's trades, that we on this board will combine our profound powers of analysis to narrow down the possible causes of why McMillan's system has been rudely not allowed to work by our owner. We need to isolate the hidden problem, that is, what is creating obstacles to McMillan's system.
I was looking at Failton's & Crawful's stats the other day and Failton is a career 41% FG shooter and 32% 3-pt shooter and assists to turnovers (per 36 minutes) is 6.9/2.7 which is about 2.5 ratio. Nothing there to impress me. As to Crawful, his FG/3 pt averages are 41%/35% and assist to turnovers (36 minute average) is 4.4/2.3 or over .50 ratio- again, nothing to write home about.
The NBA league average, taken over the last few seasons is about 45% FG/35% 3 pt. Essentially, they are statistically sub par players. Now, I realize stats are only a part of the story, but I'm not seeing any leadership from them as well. Neither is an outstanding hustle player and neither are particularly good defensively.
Is this really the best we could get and the hope of our future??
