Tuesday afternoon an Oregon jury found Timothy and Rebecca Wyland guilty of criminal mistreatment for denying medical care to their baby daughter, Alayna. The couple now faces up to five years in prison.

The jury deliberated a little over an hour, and was unanimous in their verdict.

I feel horrible for this little girl. These faith healing churches are worse than the Westboro Baptist Church IMO.

I am all for freedom of religion, and if the parents want to deny themselves medical treatment that's fine, but a child can't make that decision for themselves. I'm glad these people are being held accountable and I think it sends a message that your own personal beliefs should not come before your children's health and well being.

Every one of his "flock" sins --well, except Jesus, if you want to call him part of God's "flock" as opposed to, say, part of "God". That's been happening since the Creation of the Earth.

It's accepting the forgiveness that comes from Christ's atonement and His lordship of one's life that makes someone a Christian, not withholding medical care from your child.

Agreed 100%.
