I don't really see the point of signing him unless it's for the Whale. I think they want a strong farm team this year because so many young players will be there.

Yeah, he dosen't seem like much more than an AHL caliber player, but I guess they even need them past a year.

It looks like he was going to file for arbitration so I guess the signing was a better idea than maybe him getting a bit more in arb.

The defenseman on the Whale last year who weren't legit prospects were atrocious. I'm figuring they wanted to improve that crew.
