Bethesda has started a countdown on their website and social media platforms for what is expected to be the announcement of Fallout 4, the sequel to the 2008 Game of the Year (Fallout 3).

The announcement will likely not include a release date but their past announcements suggest that the game would be at least a year away.

Details about the game are scarce but it is expected to take place after the events of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Rumour has it the game will take place in and around Boston, Mass, in keeping with the theme of US History prevalent in the previous games.

If you thought Skyrim had a big map with loads of stuff to do, F4 will reportedly have a map three times larger.

So... vehicles?

^ Doesn't look like it outside of a possible fast travel/turret system but everything else looks fucking immaculate.

Quite happy to see F4 loading last night at ten. Forgot that the midnight launch meant I could play just after ten mountain time. Inadvertently but gladly played until one.
