Fantastic Speech...

I'd love to see him be a vice president to either Huckabee, Santorum, or Cruz

 
...yeah, I've heard this guy speak about a few things and he's generally spot on...he's ex-military, so that's a plus for me...sharp, but simple individual.

As long as he doesn't turn into another Biden (enthusiastic around election time, silent during term), I'll be fine with him.
 
I like this guy & I loved the quote about Lions & sheep because it was spot on. And someone should have told that guy in the background to sit his ass down because with a speech like that Mr West didn't need a cheer leader standing behind him.
 
Huckabee doesn't have a prayer....he's a big govt/social program guy. Santorum has good conservative chops and that blue collar steel town appeal, but he's way too Jesus freak for independents. West is an interesting guy, but he's not gonna get you black votes, he's been called out by NAACP as an uncle Tom.

Veeps have to be strategic...either pull a demographic or a swing state. Carly Fiorina and Haley Barber are top GOP Women, plus don't forget Condi Rice. Rubio-Cruz, Cruz-Rubio as the Latino slate is another intriguing combo.

In the end, follow the money. Outside of Hillbilly and Jeb, Ted Cruz and newcomer Scott Walker are taking in big bucks. Money is staying power and adds in the early primary states.

I'll state for the record, Cruz is my early favorite...he's articulate w/o a teleprompter and has an amazing record in bringing cases before the Supreme court. In particular he wrote the amicus brief signed by 31 states in Heller vs DC, a landmark decision where the court affirmed the 2A as a right to protect oneself at home. If there is any one guy that can untangle us from the 8 year hell of Obama...Cruz is the guy that can deliver. Plus the next 8 years should see 4 placements to the court, this is critical to undo the grips of socialism.
 
Could be time for the country to have a taste of a sharp, confident, to the point, shaker and mover who isn't afraid to tell it like it is and knows a thing or two about getting things done and isn't interested in putting political correctness, reading from the 21st century professional politician's handbook and will be so able to think on his feet, field questions without standard prepared professor pabulum being served......this man is being "sent" right on time, just in time...before a second generation of indoctrinated marshmallow jellyfish jerkoffs are completely lost in space.

Could be time for the country to have a "taste" from another type of big city guy with a message which isn't delivered from a radical left-wing prototypical new age "very smart" (lol) socialist who never had a job or enough experience to "run" a telephone booth and doesn't feel the need to impress the media with long winded eloquent answers demonstrating what a "deep thinker" he is which is really just a ruse and technique to use up press conference time and avoid and reduce the risk of having a question which isn't the usual softball tossed in his lap.......and the media will be kept on THEIR toes! This man isn't and won't be afraid to tell "them" where they should "go".

You think Huckabee is big govt & social programs? He seems like the opposite to me... I'd be OK with Cruz or Walker.. I think Rand Paul rubs too many people the wrong way... Christie even more so & don't think Jeb has a prayer....

Huckabee the talk show host fit a fox mold. The politician....was more big gov.

My starting points are: gut IRS, EPA and DOE. Then boot the TSA from Homeland Security, privatize it. No more outsourcing legislation to bureaucracies. I want judicial review/impeachments throughout the federal system. Rand is right about the FED messing our economy, that needs to be fixed. Obama Care tax/mandate go away. Roll federal exchanges into state exchanges and build as social safety net for impoverished. And convert mechanisms for state run/federal mental health facilities and prisons. No amnesty...codified into law. Parents must be recognized as us citizen or citizen ",in process" for children born here to be Americans.....applied retroactively. Illegals here now with criminal records are deported. Others may apply for work permits, their employers pay the fines. All jobs held be illegals must be posted for 30 days and go to citizens/legals first. No job...you are deported. All work permit people must have a sponsor that is financially responsible for them. Lastly, English proficiency required. All signage and instructions may only be printed/recorded in English. Border wall to be built by work permit holders as their penalty. Massively upscale domestic energy production...drive global prices down. No more climate change crap. Restore NASA to its rightful place.

That plus my previous gun rights legislation covers domestic. As far as foreign policy....ramp up missile defense, both in Europe and Asia. Retaliation pact with Israel...us will attack and country or group that attacks Israel. Fast track next gen B2, successor to Ohio class subs, restart F22 program in parallel to F23 as a gen6 fighter. Tax incentives for us companies to move from China to other Asian venues....China must disarm NK and cease aggressive posture. Thats a start....

Completed a survey of my own views and upon completion I was on much of the same pages with Cruz, Santorum, and Rubio.
 
I'll tell you it seems like every mothers son has thrown there hats on the republican ticket. What's it up to 17 now?

If the next gen Stealth Bomber, was to begin 2 years ago, we'd see the B3 in a year or two in the skies, traditionally a 4 yr venture, from drawing board, to the skies......

and like you tote; I can't say enough about getting on with the G6, which IMO, the YF-23 was just that.......sad; when politics make multi-billion dollar decisions, and don't land the best Vehicle, for their money.

Esp, when the runoff includes a dog, which couldn't make it 100% thru Flight Testing, before crashing both prototypes......

You've got your Platform down pat, and would have my vote....

...the black voters who are already dependent on the government, will vote democratic regardless of the race of the nominee.

...and conversely, the blacks who are republicans will certainly vote for him.

Great question Ron. Unfortunately GOP leadership still doesn't get. You are completely correct, running black candidates will not swing the black vote to the Republicans.

Now I do believe a conservative can connect with traditional democratic minorities, but its going to require some bold super-pac ads that are more akin to public service announcements. History has been so distorted that most blacks don't understand that GOP in the party of Lincoln. Or that MLK marched against democrat controlled states with Jim Crow laws. Or that Republicans were equally despised by the KKK. Basically equate a vote for Hillary as a vote to stay bound to the plantation.

And I won't be surprised to see Trump go here.

Folks should keep in mind that Trump has only one friend in this field....and that is Ted Cruz. Cruz has been very careful to not get involved in the Trump pinata game. Cruz as a skilled litigator knows how to use a witness to introduce evidence and steer the trajectory of a case. He knows Trump can/will say anything and that can be used to define the 2016 campaign landscape. People will turn on Trump...shoot the messenger if you will, but then the next guy to follow up on those topics such that it's well spoken and respectful....that will get attention of the voters.

Of course this all may not matter with Hillary continuing to step in it. Seriously the dems are going to have to find a competent candidate. I'm waiting for Joe Biden, John Kerry and AL Gore to get into this race, lol!
 
...Trump is as I've referred to him before, a "loose cannon"...much of what he says is bombastic and some of what he says I can agree with but he's such an attention whore and so extreme in some of his views he simply scares the shit out of some people.

The best thing about Trump is he's not a politician. He has no shot at anything but is important; if he aligns himself with the Republican party he eventually hurts it. If he goes 3rd party/neutral and attack everything and anything that walks, he will help the Republican party. Nobody will debate him either because politicians are so guarded and afraid of saying the wrong this - he just doesn't. Doesn't get my vote but he could end up being fun to watch.

* That ego of his won't ever allow him to admit that he has gone over the line on his words and defense of those word for McCain.

He's currently leading across the board- long long way to go in the campaign and did anyone think for a period that a junior Senator (Obama served 768 days from the start of his career in the Senate to February 10, 2007, when he formally announced his candidacy for president) would get the nomination over Hillary?.....and ultimately beat a tired lame campaign from McClain.

Just tossing a couple of things out here - does any of the OTHER GOP candidates have any more credibility and ability in being capable and willing to rebuild the infrastructure or overhaul the VA Administration....or to better check and curtail illegal invasion from the southern border?
Or create jobs?

My opinion....for now....
...those other "mainstream" candidates are milk toast midgets compared to The Donald.

Only a question of whether or not the public will ultimately have confidence in him to PERFORM and PRODUCE results as the President and overlook any bombastic remarks and the good old negative campaign from the opposition.

And I'm also sure Trump will also find a way or two to expose plenty of hypocrisy, incompetence and do-nothingness from his opponents including Hillary.

Maybe soon...maybe...."they'll" start asking Jeb or Walker if THEY will consider a 3rd Party candidacy. Lol

Heard Huckabee make a statement on Obamas "Iran Deal" saying that Obama had appeased Iran but was driving the Israelis right into the oven. Of course it was labeled as politically incorrect. I don't really see where the Obama Administration is really clear on its dealing with Israel. As far as I'm concerned the Israelis barring one incident in 1967 have always been a pretty good ally.

My opinion, plain and simply- Obama doesn't have much love for Israel and will "always" favor deals and work with sworn enemies of Israel before he checks in with the Israeli PM.

For godsake, he has made it a point NOT to use the words "Islamic terrorists" and has made it also clear to his flunkies in his administration.

Anybody wanna bet if Trump was negotiating a "deal" with Iran, the first order of business was to free the four American prisoners being held on the usual bullsh!t charges from these religious fanatical skumbags?.......or else he (Trump) would've doubled down on sanctions and certainly NOT provided Iran with 150 million in immediate cash which Obama also kicked into the "deal"....which of course Trump has already stated.

Seriously, if you were speaking privately with Trump regarding this Iran deal and asked him what he thought of a country saying " death to America" "death to Israel" while our President was making this friendly deal with Iran, you would get the same answer he publicly gives ....and Obama would give you HIS same thoughts and beliefs....there you have it. In a nutshell.
