Try SeaMonkey. Really fast because it does not download images. Well you can control it whether it does or not.

The S2 site is readable with out the images, but you need to enable the images to post.
I am looking to use it on the boat when internet access will be via a Verizon USB modem paying for the data access by the Gig.

My test indicate SeaMonkey is much less data traffic than Chrome even with Privoxy.

Ha! That is always nice! Sometimes I get the MarAzul to places where I have internet access for short snatches, which means quick works, slow verbose don't.
I am also cheap, I ain't paying Verizon for unlimited! Hell come to think of it, they don't offer it for this USB device.

Forget all that. If you want unlimited data that is free, waterproof, and can display images just fine when on the boat you should just use this:

Don't use SeaMonkey with several tabs open though!, It will soon gobble your computer.
Two tabs seems to work, three sometimes, but more will likely overload the system.

Hangouts works good with this, making calls voip. So I hardly need a phone, but I have a Tracfone linked to my Hangouts phone number, so if I am away frome the computer, here at home, or the one on the boat, I can answer a call with the Tracfone.

Kind a slick and inexpensive.

Get a $30 a month service from Cricket. It comes with a free smartphone. You get like 3 gigs of high speed data a month and unlimited slower data speed. We you're on the boat bump up for a month to the $40 plan.

You should at least have Mrs Marzy on a smartphone. Your car insurance will have an app that will send towing and roadside assistance to her exact location with a push of the button. (Yes, I know she's packing heat, I'm talking about accidents or breakdowns.)

Like I said, I am cheap. I need the data when I am on the boat, download a plethora of info and since I don't want to do without it, it might as well serve as my phone too. And it does, three 60 day prepaid loads does the trick at $35 a pop. Probably need to kick it with one or two 1 gig boost a season at $10 a pop for one gig. It works for me My Tracfone is good until the end of August 2018 with near to 500 minutes which I hardly use since I can talk all I want when I have WiFi or Verizon high speed. Oh I guess I did not mention the Wifi snooper onboard, I use it a lot to pick up Hotspots, usually for free. It's not like your smart phone picking up wifi, mine is intend for out door long range. It works for at least 5 miles, haven't had occations to try for more.

I think my yearly bill for the data and phone is about $200 - 220. It was a hoot figuring out how to do it and most of the time the sound quality of talking over the SIP connection is much better than the bloody phone and I don't run out of battery power right in the middle of the conversation.

It is a wonder they can sell these Androids!! I finally got one to tether through the USB and get internet on my Computer. It doesn't friggin work native.
Drivers missing and all sots of hoops to hop. Finally need to install some app on both devices you can only find out about from some geeks on the net.

Damn! What a zoo. But it works nice when you find the keys.

Now have Plan A, B, and C to access internet from MarAzul. Must have whether and Harbor info from the net. Those guys don't answer a telephone or VHF radio anymore or at least it's iffy.

What smartphone did you get? What version of Windows are you running? If your cell/data plan includes tethering and if you're using Windows 10 it's completely plug and play.

Not so much on some though. I've rooted a few, changed splash screens and sounds, and other crap. Flashed different OS versions on some of my phones. This last time, I had MAJOR issues getting Windows 10 to even recognize my phone, that's running lollipop. I can't even remember what eventually worked, but it took me days of messing with it.

I picked up a LG Nexus 4 for 30 bucks. Running it on Windows XP. I have stuff running on that XP system I will never get migrated to Win 10
But I am begining to think I may have to begin thinking of running two systems, a frozen XP. No more new stuff and a Win 10 for everything that can migrate.
But I am ok today!!!

I tried to move to Win 7 once, but it wiped out all my serial ports, I use 6. So I needed to replace the hardware to be compatible with Win7 drivers. But then some software used drivers that were not available on for Win 7 (or 10 now). Can't move that stuff
But so far I have it all working. But I know I have to plan for two systems. Too close to the edge.

The only reason for putting the Android in the system is for it's tethering and it is on the opposite network from the Verizon group. That is, I want access on both the CDMA and GSM provider network for moving around with the boat. It is a pain in the ass move into an area that you are not compatible with. You usually can get a phone call through but not a connection.

Oh Great! This is no backup!
When the USB760 modem or the UML290 USB modem will not stay connected to the Verizon towers, The Android can't even find an ATT tower period!
This shit is sure hit and miss, maybe but probably not sort of crap.
