So I have spent quite a bit of time in Alaska and society / culture in parts up there is completely different then here. I think the reason that this type of thing isnt illegal in parts up there is because “hunting” isnt a hey lets go have fun thing, but literally how some of them get clothes / food / etc. So its more a matter of survival then “sport”. Not excusing what these clowns did, or even 100% excusing the laws of Alaska just offering insight as to why the laws might be the way they are. I have a few family members up there who literally have no outside contact with the world for 6-7 months a year. They dont have any big grocery stores around. There are Walmarts in some places but for many people they’re hundreds of miles away.

I understand I read a comment somewhere about oh why are these things not illegal in Alaska or something and I was just saying why the laws might be the way they are up there. I honestly haven't ever gone hunting.
