Speaking of being "suicided" or "Arkansawed"

As I was watching some of the clips yesterday from Republican leaders floating out the secret society message (then having to walk it back when it turned out to be a joke) I thought, "Wow, they are complete morons". That's when it hit me... this whole thing is an existential crisis on my part and I must be living in something like the "Truman Show" because this can't be real. For a moment I felt a sense relief that I'd figured it out. That I was living in an "experiment" and that these people are just actors. I was very excited to come over here and share with all my friends (because I was sure you would be as relieved as I am) that this is all just fake news but then I realized you're all in on it too. Stop messing with me people and dog! :dammit:

Not a joke, confirmed in testimony to House Investigation by other current FBI sources, you really need to expand your sources of "information".

Testifying under oath before Congress last year, James Comey confirmed a shadow government often met on the 7th floor at the State Department for secret meetings aimed at implementing their own government policies outside of any legal or constitutional basis, often contradicting the Obama administration's and Congress's stated actions and goals, especially as regarding foreign relations (arming ISIS, rigging the Ukranian election, abetting the Taliban in smuggling drugs to America...)

The only joke here is the ridiculous claim that anything has been debunked. Nowhere in ABC's report is anything debunked, just an empty and unsupported claim by ABC that it was a joke. And as far as the staged "interview" of Senator Johnson, the interviewer clearly had no interest in genuine answers or learning anything relevant to the investigation.

Johnson said that he was “just connecting the dots” based on information he had heard from “all kinds of people.” He went on to deny that he’s a part of a Republican effort to discredit the FBI.

“My involvement goes back three years and the sham investigation into what I believe was a crime by Secretary Clinton,” Johnson said. “By the way, another pretty important piece of information to come from the last batch of texts is that we now know that President Obama received a text or an email from Clinton–”

The host cut him off, saying “we don’t have the time to go back in history.”

I've certainly got the time, Real American's have the time, our Constitution, Congress, and our legal system certainly have the time, and the interviewer asked only questions that specifically "go back in history", so what he meant to say is "we don't have time for the truth because it reveals crimes by our political favorites".

NPR is just another paid DNC propaganda site now, nothing more.

Well, if Clinton emailed or texted Obama, then clearly they both need to go to jail.

But it's worse than that. I've seen pictures of them together, and not only that: Clinton was actually ON OBAMA'S PAYROLL for YEARS!

The conspiracy grows...

We should start arresting everyone who voted for both Obama and Clinton and try to get them to flip to see who gave them the orders to do so.

So uh, I'm not the only one who wants to get "secret society" tattooed on my penis am I?

Obama used an alias. He clearly knew about her server, though he lied about that in public. No big deal, right?

A few weeks back I said Trump could start a nuclear war and Maris would still say greatest president ever. I would like to amend that statement. Trump could start a nuclear war and Maris would say "no war! fake news!" The networks, MSNBC, CNN, even ESPN would show pictures of mushroom clouds and Fox would talk about the secret memo and Hillary's emails.

I know it'd been "widely reported" that it was going to be in a few months, but I was under the impression it was for retirement purposes? I mean, if I retired from the Navy at 20 years, I get a pension. If I retire at 19 years and 9 months, I get nothing.

Either the "step down once retirement gate is hit" wasn't correct (could be, I don't know the man's service record), or he is going to lose everything by stepping down couple of months early (not likely), or there's some negotiated settlement ("take a garbage job for 3 months until you get to your retirement"). It doesn't matter what your last job was, retirement is based on the highest 36 months of pay you ever received.

He was a few months from getting full retirement benefits...it cost him some money to step down now.

I think it has been reported he has enough vacation time to last until March, and that the official end of his employment is still March.

He's taking a "leave of absence" so he hits his 20 years (in your scenario).

His move today wasn't expected. He was expected to fully serve his time.

I guess I'm not seeing the "why", there. I mean, if I listened to Mags (or as much as the liberals on my page are talking about #muellertime!) I'd think everyone's going to jail tomorrow and President Ryan or Mattis is going to be in place. But in this specific case, do gov't officials generally "step down" under the threat of arrest if they stay on their position? What would compel someone to change their mind on that, in a high-profile position like this?

My guess is he just wants to use up his PTO. It IS a surprise he's taking his PTO like this and not doing his job until the day he retires.

Maybe Mueller does have something on him, but I've not seen anything along those lines reported anywhere.

I stumbled across this. There might be some truth to this. Rather than deal with the fallout of the imminent release of the FISA/abuse memo compiled by republicans in the House.

Even if he's truly squeaky clean, the accusations are going to make his life more miserable while he remains in office.

I don't normally cite Fox News, but it's an example of the kind of stuff he's going to have to deal with soon.

McCabe stepping down also allows him to join Mueller's team.
