If you don't hate the Clippers, you just might after reading Quick's latest article:
During a heated final minute, Rivers barked at Stotts, who was complaining about Jordan on the sideline leaning into the field of play to talk into McCollum’s ear.

Brian Wheeler, the Blazers' longtime radio play-by-play voice who was sitting courtside, said Rivers yelled to Stotts to "sit down you (bleeping) punk!"

Rivers felt Stotts shouldn’t be speaking to his players; Stotts felt the league had just sent a memo stressing the rule to keep bench players off the court and it wasn’t being enforced.

The two coaches neared midcourt and exchanged more words before Stotts waved his hand in disgust at Rivers.

Their a team I tried to like after going through the Sterling fiasco. Glen and CP3 are so annoying though. Never seen a team whine and complain so much in professional sports.

People around the league such as Jeff Van Gundy were shocked they could get Stotts so angry; he's such a positive laid back guy. Shows what assholes the Clippers are.

The league has to love this--coaching related storylines for the eventual 4/5 matchup, and then the continuation of the GSW/LAC saga after the refs push the Clips into round 2.

Sorry, my cynicism is showing again...

Would love to see a Stotts/Rivers epic remake of Smith/Coach K smackdown. It would make a Clips/Blazers series that much more fun. Of couse, you hate thme 10 minutes into any game due to CP3's incessant bitching!
CP is dirty, but he's not nearly the whiner that Blake and Deandre are. I absolutely detest that team. I really want to punch em a few games in the series.

We're in for another 2013/2014 Rockets/Blazers series.

Clippers don't really scare me.
They are definitely vulnerable. Their chemistry and talent is dancing on the edge of a knife. Now that they aren't the league's California golden children, they are losing relevance. We are hungry and a good storyline. I'm with you; I just hate watching Clippers games.

This series won't be fun, because the Clippers are so reprehensible, but having the opportunity to bounce them makes it must-watch.

I used to detest Lakers the most. But now they are riding the Rollercoaster of Suck! And so now, I guess Houston would be number one with the Clippers still a ways away.

Still..... no pro team can come close to my loathing of UW Huskies. I can't use the word hate in those terms because it's too limiting.

Man, it's a tossup between the Clips and Rockets for me. I think Rivers is probably the biggest douche in coaching, but Harden is easily the player that I hate the most in the NBA.
Harden should go to the Clippers for Redick, Jeff Green and 2 1sts and then it would be an easy choice on which team to hate. Clippers have more douches overall then Rockets.

I hope we get them in the playoffs and manage to just injure them. Take out their knees!

L*ker Hatred is a moral imperative, and is not subject to conditional modifiers.

I used to feel that way about the Cowboys too..... and then they sucked forever. I could see the Lakers sucking for a long time. They don't have Jerry West anymore, and their ownership is a joke.

I know exactly what you mean, except it's the LA Dodgers for me......or maybe any team in any sport at any level from LA. I don't stop to analyze........

Are you trying to make me pop chubbage?

The Harden/Howard douche is going to get flushed before the playoffs even start. It would be doing the league a favor for the Blazers to flush the Clippers' douche in the first round.

The number of Western Conference NBA teams I dislike continues to grow. While it would be easy to right that off as me growing older and grumpier, it's not a general condition, it's very specific and I believe justified.

In chronological order:

LAL: Always hated them, always will. No explanation necessary.

SEA/OKC: When they were in Seattle there was a natural rivalry. Their assent to contender status during mid-1990s with Kemp and Payton directly coincided with the Blazers descent. I moved to Portland in 1989 and attended over 40 games (counting preseason and playoffs) before I saw the Blazers lose a game live. That first loss was to the Kemp/Payton Sonics. Still, it wasn't so much hate back then as it was a strong, but respectful, dislike. It wasn't until the current lying, hillbilly, cheapskate owners stole the team from Seattle, moved them to cow town, and left the Blazers on an island in the PNW with no other team in their division in the same time zone that the hatred began. Combine that with the fact that I can't stand that cocky shit Westbrick and love to see him fail, especially in the playoffs, and I find it very easy and natural to root against them.

HOU: Asshat fans. HATE the flopping. It's a disgrace and a perversion of the game. When your game plan depends heavily on deception, you've earned my scorn. There is nothing more boring and simultaneously infuriating than watching James Harden flop his way to 20+ FTs. I've also enjoyed watching their cocky, baby-faced GM get his comeuppance this year.

LAC: They were impossible to hate during the Donald Sterling years due to irrelevance and ineptitude, but man how times have changed. Once they started winning, the bandwagon hoards deserted the Lakers and brought their lofty sense of entitlement to their previously hapless brethren. It was like watching some spoiled, rich, prep school, trust fund douchebag lose his inheritance to his younger bastard step-brother because he got caught one too many times with cocaine and hookers. Now they are even easier to hate than the Lakers. How in the fuck is that even possible? It's like I'm living in some bizarro alternate universe. Doc Rivers is hands down, the most hate-able coach in the history of professional sports. He road the coattails of KG, Pierce and Ray Allen to a single championship and now thinks he's a fucking genius. Hey Doc, you're J.B. Bickerstaff with a better roster and a whinier disposition. He starts bitching about EVERY call at the opening tipoff and never lets up - and he gets away with it because he lucked into a ring 8 years ago on the other side of the continent. He's always hoarse, because he never shuts the fuck up. Not letting C.J. play due to a clerical error and yelling at Stotts for getting on the refs makes him even more detestable. Love CP3's talent, but HATE his attitude. Whiniest little bitch in the game playing for the whiniest coach. Yeah, they's made it VERY easy to hate the once downtrodden Clippers. I would enjoy upsetting them even more than beating HOU two years ago.

SAS: This was the team I used to root for after the Blazers were eliminated. I liked watching them beat the Pistons and especially the Lakers. I like Pop's old school approach and the way he can get any player, even superstars, to buy into his philosophy. It's his way or the highway and it's so rare in the NBA these days that the coach is calling the shots, and not some prima donna superstar that hasn't won shit. But, then there's the whole LaMarcus Aldridge thing. I don't hate him as passionately as many here in this forum, but I would find it painful to see someone who said he wanted to retire as the greatest Blazer ever hoisting the Larry O'Brian trophy in another uniform.

GSW: Loved watching them win it all last year. It was nice to see a long suffering, passionate fan base rewarded for their continued support during the lean decades since their only previous championship. I loved watching them beat the Rockets in the WCF and the Cavs in the finals last year. Steph Curry is a transcendent talent. He is revolutionizing the game and his skill as a shooter amazes me. And Steve Kerr is an immensely likable coach (the anti-Doc) But, with their success has come arrogance - especially Klay Thompson. Still, out of all the contenders in the West, they would be my second choice, after my beloved, over achieving Blazers, to go all the way. Still, it won't be the same feel good story as it was last year. And, if they win it all again, the arrogance will probably continue to grow.

No doubt. My Rivers and CP3 hate > than my Rockets hate at this point though. Fuck those bitches.

At this point I would still root for GSW against the Spurs. I refuse to cheer for Aldridge under any circumstances.

It kinda sucks that GS, SA, and OKC are all so good that many think the fact we aren't playing them means we are golden. Clips are still a really good team and they are going to be pissed about getting bounced by the rockets last year.

The Clippers have been a streaky team. They got off to a slow start, but then won 10 in a row from Christmas - Jan 13. We actually have a better record over the last 40 games (27-13) than they do (25-15). On paper, our odds look much better against them than GSW, SAS or OKC.

Griffin is the real wild card. Some say they play better without him. I don't buy that, at least not in the post season. He gives them another weapon to fall back on when the outside shots aren't falling. It really depends on how rusty he is and how well they reintegrate him into their lineup. It's not like those guys haven't played together. Griffin, Paul, Jordan and Reddick have been paying together for years. Mbah a Moute is the only new starter they have and he plays less than 17 MPG and he is clearly the 5th option on offense when he's on the court.

I should be a good series and very intense. It sure won't be easy, but pulling off an upset isn't out of the question. They are resting 7 players tonight against UTA including 4 of their starters. I hope they continue to rest them, lose all four of their remaining games and enter the playoffs rusty from not playing their starters for a week and a half and we steal game one in LA. If we do, then it becomes a VERY interesting series. We've won 19 of our last 21 at home. Stealing HCA from them would be huge.
