Felton frustrated with Nate

Chicken or egg?

Does Felton suck because Nate has no confidence in him?

Or, does Nate lack confidence in him because Felton sucks?

Time to break this vicious cycle. They both need to go. The sooner, the better.

To me this is all on Felton. Earlier in the year we were actually hearing about the budding relationship between Nate and Ray.

Easy answer.

Felton is not a good NBA PG. Period. It doesn't matter the coach or the system, he just isn't very good. He's not starter material and is being kicked around in nearly every game. He's not about to admit it, so he blames others.

See this is where you're looking at him with just Blazers' blinders on. He has been semi-good at other points in his career. He looked fucking fantastic playing for D'Antoni for a stretch and completely deserved whatever all-star consideration he was getting and he wasn't horrible as a backup in a difficult situation in Denver. He's never been this bad ... not even close.

What does that even mean?

It means that we were hearing stories about how nate would have frequent film sessions with Felton and due to their newfound relationship, McMillan had complete confidence to turn over his offense to his new PG.

Legitimately good players tend to be decent wherever they play, not fall off a fucking cliff. Denver fans were not impressed with Raymond during his time there, so I guess the warning signs were there,

Felton has never been great, but historically he has been pretty on par with Dre. Felton almost made the all star game last season

He hasn't been on par with Miller, historically. Miller has a higher career Assist Rate, much higher scoring efficiency and a much higher Offensive Rating (points generated per 100 possessions). He's also generally had better Defensive Ratings (points allowed per 100 possessions). Felton's career PER is below average (14.2) while Miller's is solidly above average at 18. (20 PER is generally All-Star caliber.)

Absolutely this....this was one of my biggest arguments against the trade last year. Miller has been significantly better over the course of his career and hasn't seen dramatic fluctuations even during the last couple years.

I don't think Nate is a good coach, and I don't think he handles players correctly....but Felton only needs to look n the mirror to see whom he should be blaming....He has CONTINUED to get minutes and he has CONTINUED to play AWFUL in those minutes provided and last night was as worse as I have seen him play, which is no easy feat given his performance this year to date....

To blame Nate for your piss poor play is weak IN HIS CASE...IMO Nate has stayed with him FAR TOO LONG....What a complete disaster\bust the trade for Felton has turned out to be for POR....The ONLY good thing that can come from it is the cap space POR will gain when they let his sorry ass walk this offseason...

But we couldn't keep Andre because we needed... (tries to keep a straight face)... a good outside shooter!

And, he doesn't play Nate's way (which is probably the biggest compliment you can give a PG these days).

“I know I'm struggling, but it's hard to perform the way you know how when you know they don't have confidence in you,” Felton told CSNNW.com. “Never in my days playing basketball, have I felt like a coach wasn't confident in my abilities. It's hard to play knowing that.

"Coming in and out of games is throwing my rhythm off, but it's something that I'll get through."

No coach in their right mind with have confidence in Felton right now. If Nate did have confidence in him, I'd actually be upset with Nate about it.

Ray, I'm guessing nobody has any confidence in you right now, most importantly your teammates.

The one positive I'll give Felton is that he played well against Chris Paul last night, and when he was out, Paul took over the game. Still, his offense is so shitty, you can't justify leaving him on the floor.

I'm not defending Nate but....

Nate isn't holding Felton's hand when he's missing wide open jumpers.
Nate isn't holding Felton's hand when he's blowing layups.
Nate isn't holding Felton's hand when he's throwing errant passes.

This is all on Failton.

Very True, if Felton can resemble anything of his past on Offense or an NBA level PG we'll be fine.

Why is that not possible?

Swear the people in this city are as gloomy as the weather

Outside of a short stint in NYK under D'Antoni, Felton has NEVER been good. What don't people understand about this?

His career PER outside of that stint is below 15. That's not an NBA starter, and it's certainly not close to what we gave up for him. (18.0 PER Miller)

Why did the Blazers Trade Andre Miller for him if he's never been good?

Because he's younger. They hoped his play with the Knicks wasn't an aberration (it was). They hoped he still had some room to grow.

They made a mistake. Given what the FO has done these last few years, it's not hard to believe they screwed up.

Agree they made a mistake, but it's too early to claim aberration as fact. If Felton can simply manage his TO's, forget about scoring, and just up his assists he'll be an asset to this team. The #1 reason Nate likes him, along with all of our other players, is his sturdy defense. IMO If we just tone down the expectations of him, give him an offense that focus's on our 2 guards scoring along with LMA, Felton can run this team, despite what your eyes tell you.

P.S. how the heck can all these fans who are so terribly frustrated with Nate not sympathize with Felton?!? Nate's offense Sucks!

How can people still think Felton will turn it around. How many more wide open bricks, point blank layup misses and horrible passes will it take before you acknowledge what he is?

It's funny, but I think you're both right. But it's sort of like trying to perform an autopsy on body pulled from a river with a bullet wound in its chest. Did he die from the gunshot or dd he drown? The answer is that it doesn't matter; ether was enough to kill.

Raymond Felton is the biggest piece of trash in quite some time to put on a Blazers uniform

The sad thing is he has no one to blame but himself. Instead he blames everyone else. Pathetic.

I've read that Raymond Felton has lost 13 pounds since the season began, and who knows how many more pounds he still has to go. If you come in in this kind of shape in a contract year then you're just a lazy sob that doesn't get it.

I feel sorry for Nate that he's stuck with this piece of trash.
