Fernandez Injures Back in fall scrimmage!

You have to admit that Rudy is genius enough to be GM. In chronological order:

1) He pretends to put out great effort at practice. His critics have convinced us that he didn't do that last season, coming back from back surgery in the middle of the season to alleviate his pain. And now he has less motivation, having announced his desire to leave. How is it possible he could still put out great effort?

2) He pretends to play defense with a block on Armon Johnson, and the many witnesses praise it as stupendous. His critics have convinced us that A) he doen't play defense, and B) he doesn't play an inside game. Either a) This fake block was premeditated, and must have involved Johnson's cooperation or b) the witnesses, including McMillan, were paid off by a Barcelona scout.

3) He falls to the floor with a thud so loud that it is heard on all 4 of the active, loud basketball courts in the building. Now this is so easily faked. I myself have paid my little brother a quarter to play a recorded thud into the PA system whenever I fake a fall and risk breaking my surgically-repaired back.

4) He writhes in pain while message board critics sprint to their keyboards. Anyone who has watched snakes in a pet store can do this. Uh, the writhing, not the dissing of Rudy. Well, now that I think of it, both.

Cho should step down and let Rudy trade himself. He could sell quicksand to an octopus.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to jlprk again.

Post of the week!

This is why I come here.

It's clear the haters here lack any real understanding of how a competitive athlete's mind works.

I conclude they themselves have never experienced the more useful and fulfilling emotions of desire, elation, accomplishment, and pride.

Has anyone ever noticed that Quick rhymes with prick????

And "Rudy" rhymes with "doody."

On the one hand, such hardcore analysis is fun but, on the other hand, it's also a little nerdy. We're talking basketball, here, not advanced calculus.

Has anyone ever noticed that Quick rhymes with prick????

article titled
"Jason Quick: Rudy, quit crying and show some love"

http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2010/10/jason_quick_rudy_quit_crying_a.html

You know I am down with you jlprk. Have been since the espn days. I am also not a Quick fan. But, I think we disagree on this Rudy situation. Sure, Quick had to act a bit like a prick with the whole "kleenex" tone, but aside from that, the article spoke the truth. It is in Rudy's best interest to play well, play hard, and acct like a professional. He has a contract. Be professional and stick to it. Don't talk about your effort being a "day in and day out" kind of deal. That is just lame. I don't think I have ever heard a "professional" athlete say those kinds of words.

Prunetang, I think that Rudy doesn't know of the nuances of the idiom "day by day." Reporters have to simplify their questions so he can understand the big words. A lot is lost in the translation with Rudy. I wouldn't analyze his wordings too closely.

He knows he has an uphill fight to excel here because 1) Roy's here, 2) Nate's system doesn't show Rudy's positives, and now 3) they brought in Matthews and 2 drafted guards.

Including Mills, the team has 8 guards. They have no use for Rudy. He's saying, "What's the point? If you had any plans for me, you wouldn't have gotten Matthews. You wouldn't have any minutes for me this year, even without Matthews, because of Bayless. Why don't you just kill me and put me out of my misery? Then you can either keep Mills, or get a forward, and improve the imbalance of 5 forwards and 7-8 guards that you now have."

And now the Oregonian begins a "War on Rudy' campaign because the "War on Paul Allen" fizzled out when everyone forgot about Pritchard so fast. Must this useless war begin?

P.S. Bigrugo--Feel free to disagree. I always expect many to do so. I'll still push your songs! It's okay.

This guy is his group's lead singer, and the songwriter of his generation !!

Seriously, his songs sound better to my ears than most modern songs I hear on the radio. He writes 'em and sings 'em. If he lived in a media center instead of way off the freeway south of Portland, he'd get some national airplay.
