After 50 days, on April 19, 1993, a standoff between FBI agents and Branch Davidians ended in a fire that destroyed their compound located in Mt. Carmel, near Waco. And yes, Reno shouldn't have approved the FBI siege, but she was under their influence. Administrators have historically found it impossible to control such agencies, BATF or otherwise back to Hoover.
