Yeah, boy, being around Christians is pretty darned repugnant. Oh, the agony.

Actually, I didn't say anything was repugnant. I said it was possible he didn't like the vibe. People don't like the vibe of many different work environments. It is by no means a stretch to suggest that an employee would feel less than comfortable in an environment like that where their faith is very important and they don't hide it.

I am certain some christians are hypocrites in the sensitivity department. They will talk about muslims being sensitive and blowing things out of proportion -- no pun intended  -- but when someone says something as mild as "someone might not like the vibe" and it turns into "being around christians is pretty damned repugnant"... I don't know, bud.

U mad?
:hello:

Here is an example of my "christians at the work place" environment.

1. You don't believe in god? What is your moral compass then?

2. Console family members of patient with these gems: God doesn't give you anything you can't handle. Your loved one is in a better place now. Your loved one is at the side of god now.

3. Telling patients "I will pray for you", unsolicited

4. Asking me to pray for patients knowing full well I am not a believer. (And I pretend to do it just so they feel more comfortable because it just isn't worth the turmoil)

5. Rolling their eyes and scoffing at other religious practices, because they aren't the same as theirs.

6. Talking about topics such as "the end times" at the nursing station.

Could go on and on, but you might think I felt christians are all repugnant.

And I am certain in more religious parts of the country it is much worse. I'm in the heathen capital of the USA, FWIW. Denny and I just might be neighbors:smiley-cuddle:

It doesnt matter, but since you brought up his faith, not sure why you think he's muslim or "tired of the christian vibe". He went to Jesuit High School and reads books written by christian pastors.

Thought I read someone else saying he was muslim.

But as far as "tired of the christian vibe" is concerned, you can be religious and not care for religion in the work place. See Doc Rivers as an example in the NBA world to start.

In my personal experience, I have a co-worker from Eritrea who is christian that doesn't care for the others wearing their religiosity on their sleeves and wish they would keep their comments to themselves. It isn't bad enough for either of us to make a big deal of it, but it certainly makes for a less than ideal work environment.

Am I mad? At some faceless poster on a message board whom I will likely never meet? Uhmm...no. I just thought your post was so goofy that I responded in a sarcastic manner. Sorry about that.

As usual, you've posted an encyclopedic essay explaining your viewpoint. I'm not interested in playing with you. Sorry again.

The reasos your post was so goofy are your assumptions, first that Ezeli would be offended by the Warriors Christian "vibe", and second that he'd be escaping it by coming to Portland. I know for a fact that many of the Blazers are Christians. I also know that there's a team chaplain and that at least some of the guys pray together. I don't think that's unusual around the league. People can respect people's varying views and beliefs. These guys are pros.

I just looked it up and he's had one knee surgery 2 years ago...one sprained ankle..and a minor procedure to clean debris out of that knee last season...that's only one major knee operation...he's young. He has both meniscus. This guy graduated from high school with high grades at 14 years of age!

He graduated high school before he even played a game of basketball. lol.

He went to Yuba City Community College...started as a biology major and when he tried basketball he switched to business and video studies..he's a bright guy

If there is a player on our radar and the word knee gets used, we are right to be cautious.
Word. Being a Blazers fan had made me super cautious about knees. Luckily, Festus was signed for a ridiculously small contract, so if things go south physically, at least we aren't on the hook for much

My main point was that the Blazers being cautious about a guy's knees doesn't mean he is definitely broken. Some people who were bit by dogs as children are afraid of poodles too, doesn't mean much.

Hopefully this turns out to be an under promise over deliver type thing.

Got ya. I imagine Olshey would probably hesitate to sign a contact with a player he thought would have serious knee problems. I am a bit worried, but it's still a great signing, I'll trust Neil on this much more than I'd trust myself or you, or anyone else here.

That statement really does not say much. Of course there are concerns, he had surgery to fix a prior surgery. So now he has 2 years to prove he is healthy.

Now if the "source" said his MRI came back with some concerns...I would be worried. But if that was the case....why sign him at all?
I think they used his injury to low ball him......and I am good with that.

Problem is, after 2 years they can only offer him 175% of his previous contract because they'd only have his early bird rights, and we'd certainly be over the cap. That means that lowballing him means we probably won't be able to offer him enough money in his next contract to keep him if he plays well and stays healthy.

For me it was my grandmother's psychotic Chihuaha...I've hated those things ever since
