Assuming USA defeat Brazil today, what is the tie breaker between Greece, Brazil, and Czech Republic? Is it just point differential amongst their games against one another?

It's amazing to me that the free throw Caboclo snatched off the rim during a round 1 game nearly a week ago is going to be the thing that keeps Greece from advancing out of round 2.

Greece it out, If Brazil wins they go through otherwise it's Czechs that qualify.

All Ex-Blazers squad:

C: Varejao (does he count?)
F: Claver, Batum, Aminu
G: Rudy, Patty, Luis Montero, Gian Clavell

Did I miss anyone?

We have the fucking MVP and the referees treat him like he is nobody. This is a joke of a foul that got him out of the game.

Shouldn't every player be treated equally regardless of fame ?

Read an interesting note today that the only team with no current OR former reps in the WC this year is Miami. They have Dragic now, but that's pretty much it. Riley doesn't like to look overseas for talent, it seems.

Ike Diogu, Mason Plumlee, Georgios Papagiannis, Kostas Papanikolaou (sort of)

I think it’s points differential over the whole tournament, not just against one another.

I don’t like it because it encourages beating up on, and embarrassing weaker nations.

Which seems like a bad idea to me.

The one thing that has really stood out to me this tournament is the large number of NBA players.

I don’t know if it’s more than at any previous tournament, but it sure seems like it.

Great grinding game between Australia, and France. Not so much physical grinding like the Australia v Lithuania game, but grinding as in great offensive execution by both teams. Australia got the win by just sticking to their game plan, not getting too high, or low emotionally, executing, and just grinding it out.

France is so long, and forced Australia into a lot of turnovers. Batum was great early, but then faded. Fournier was great offensively, but allowed Australia some easy buckets by switching off mentally on the defensive end.

Australia kept Baynes on the perimeter, and forced France to choose between Gobert protecting the rim, or Baynes taking 3's. France chose rim protection, Baynes went 5/6 from downtown. Australia also used Gobert's eagerness to try to block everything to get him fouled out of the game.

Great defence by Baynes in the last quarter, taking three charges in a row. Great steal by Patty.

I think Australia's greatest strength was 3 point shooting, and France's greatest strength was their ability to force turnovers. I reckon Australia won because they were calmer, and more focused in the last few minutes of the game. France made mistakes under the pressure. The commentators said Australia's average age was 3 years older than France.

I was 2 years old, so I don't remember much, but I heard everybody had a great time !

France dropping their heads now, they need to dig deep.

USA starting to feel it, and finding their rhythm.
