Dame and CJ have been added to the camp invite list. Considering the tournament is in China, I'm expecting every player with a major shoe deal will want to go. CJ being endorsed by Li Ning prolly gives him even more incentive to try to make it.

https://www.espn.com/olympics/baske...4472/sources-lillard-beal-part-usa-hoops-camp

Camp invites so far:

Dame
CJ
Beal
Love
AD
Harden
Eric Gordon
Tatum
Mitchell
Middleton
B. Lopez
Kuzma
Aldridge
Drummond

If the Olympic dudes are out (Bron/Steph/KD/etc), I fully expect Dame to get the invite to the real team and also for him to accept it. Great chance for Dame to do some recruiting.

Zion I believe is being invited as well. Not sure if it's official yet.

I dont like that Dame and CJ could play in China for team usa. They need rest because next Season is gonna be tough without Nurkic for a long time

I'm very excited about Australia's chances at finally winning a medal. This is our strongest ever squad, with 8 NBA players (9 if you count Creek who played for Brooklyn, and Minnesota), with only Thon Maker (Detroit - Pistons asked him not to play), and Ryan Broekhoff (Dallas - his wife is giving birth, poor timing) missing.

Deng Adel Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA)
Aron Baynes Boston Celtics (NBA)
Todd Blanchfield Illawarra Hawks
Andrew Bogut Sydney Kings Golden State Warriors (NBA)
Jonah Bolden Philadelphia 76ers (NBA)
Xavier Cooks s.Oliver Würzburg (Germany)
Mitch Creek South East Melbourne Phoenix
Matthew Dellavedova Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA)
Cameron Gliddon Brisbane Bullets
Chris Goulding Melbourne United
Joe Ingles Utah Jazz (NBA)
Nicholas Kay Perth Wildcats
Jock Landale Partizan (Serbia)
Mitch McCarron Melbourne United
Patty Mills San Antonio Spurs (NBA)
Brock Motum Anadolu Efes (Turkey)
Ben Simmons Philadelphia 76ers (NBA)
Nathan Sobey Brisbane Bullets

I'm surprised how short the tournament is, only 15 days.

I'm also looking forward to the Australia v USA warm up games in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium, on August 22 and 24 (that's 21 and 23 for you lot). Both games have sold out the over 53,000 capacity roofed Australia Football stadium. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get tickets.

They'll be working out and running scrimmages anyway. I don't think this makes much of a difference. If anything it's better for them. They'll have enough R&R afterwards.

Great team indeed, but we (Greece) are gonna destroy everybody with Giannis.

Just kidding our rest of the team sucks

Sucks is harsh. Imagine not being on WC. That sucks

Sorry, but after the debacle last year with the Philippines, I've lost respect for both teams.

Yes in fact it is harsh, it is just our coach instead of coaching he should be running a tavern or something like that. We got some quality Euroleague players.

Both equally? Because the Australian team didn't do too much wrong IMO. The Philippines team were classless thugs, with them starting it and like 10 of them stomping on an Australian on the ground.

Certainly not equally, but the Aussies could have handled that a bit better.

I thought I read Simmons wasn't playing.

How many Antetokoumpos will be on the Greece team?

Here is the remaining roster: https://www.usab.com/mens/national-team/roster.aspx

Who is Dame gonna recruit? Beal? ugh Love.

I wonder if CJ will make the squad.

Amongst available guards, I'd probably put him 5th behind Dame, Beal, Kemba, and Mitchell, and ahead of Gordon and Lowry.

I'd assume they'd go with 2 centers, whom I'd guess to be Drummond and Turner, although I could see them going with Brook for the outside shooting.

Forwards, I'd rank Harris, Middleton, Love, Millsap, Tatum, Kuzma, Tucker, Barnes.

I can't see them going with 6 forwards, so I think there's a pretty good chance of both Dame and CJ being on the team together.

I know this is a bit more physical load on them but I kinda want them to go this year. Usually, I'd be staunchly against it, but both of em have to play at least one tournament in their careers. And it would give me a reason to pay attn to bball in the dog days of summer.

FIBA is a farce. A silly game on a silly court played by silly rules using a silly ball.
