Dictators do fear words. Trump tried to get cast of Saturday Night Live arrested. Insisted Colbert be fired. Rails at honest media.

Congress went into recess to avoid hearing the words of Epstein victims. I would say they hurt Trump a lot more than some comedian insulting people for not doing what he's not doing.

Kari Lake, who ran unsuccessfully for governor and senator in Arizona and still insists she really won but elections wete rigged, thought it would be a good idea to try to troll Senator Gallegos. She posted the senator's father sold drugs and he sells bullshit, calling it genetics. Senator replied the great thing about America is son of a drug dealer can repudiate that evil and get elected to the Senate, beating a second rate TV personality who never made big time.
 
Former FBI agents sued over illegal partisan firing. The agents allege they were asked if they voted for Trump, how long they have been Trump supporters, did they vote for any Democrat in last five years, did they want agents who carried out legal search of Trump's home fired, etc. They claim FBI Director Kash Patel acknowledged firing illegally but Trump insisted on purge of FBI.
 
New York Times ran article that possibility of Zohran Mamdani as mayor was making billionaires nervous. Sent reporter to posh summer homes and upscale exercise classes.

Mamdani turned it into campaign ad. Ad consists solely of reading Times article with suitable ironic inflections.
 
Chairman of Johnson County, Iowa board of supervisors defied order from Iowa governor to fly flag at half staff for Kirk. He said he would not fly half staff for person who spread division and intolerance.

More of that is how you solve the homeless problem in the US.

A one-time payment of $150 billion would provide enough of these for all of the homeless in America.

Then the cost of treating these same people would drop significantly. With enough savings to fully cover the cost of the buildings within 20 years.

All we have to do is choose to do it...

It would take a lot of convincing of people to be open to the idea of taking money away from the billionaires, so it'll never happen.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I also understand this position.

However, just to be perfectly clear for anyone who may need clarification, we wouldn't have to take money from billionaires. We could just divert money that we already spend on the homeless... Pay a bit more upfront and then pay it off with the future savings.

Don't bring up facts into things, billionaires are barely making ends meet. We must cut everything else.
 
Senator Maisie Hirono of Hawaii introduced a bill to exempt small business from some Trump tariffs. She posted that it would bring relief to small businesses taking it in the neck from tariffs. Hardly violent. But Trump loyalist Kelly Loeffler, unqualified head of Small Business Administration, threatened her with reprisal and warned her to watch what she said. Senator's reply short and to the point .
