"Fields said Ford would have gone ahead with the decision whether or not Trump was elected president."

so, what did his tweet do again?
“As we think about the investments here in Michigan, as you can imagine, Neil, we look at a lot of factors as we make those. One of the factors that we’re looking at is a more positive U.S. manufacturing business environment under President-elect Trump and some of the pro-growth policies he said he’s going to pursue. And so this is a vote of confidence.”

Of course this stuff doesn't mean anything until it really happens. Words are cheap, actions are what matter.

This thread was much better when we were talking about the new Alien movie.

Buh bye Barak. Hello, Trump!

Economists at HSBC on Wednesday raised their forecast for global growth and inflation over the next two years based on robust manufacturing activity, a resilient China and above all the fiscal boost expected to come in the United States.

It was the first time in nearly five years they have upped their growth and inflation outlooks over a two-year horizon as 2017 gets underway and as investors prepare for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump entering the White House.

For someone who claimed they didn't like Trump, you sure defend him and praise him a lot...

Is this not good news?

Should we all ignore the good news and pretend everything is awful still?

I don't know, is it good news? You hated stimulus spending when Obama did it. Now you love it when Trump proposes it.

$1T of infrastructure spending sounds like stimulus, does it not?

It sounds like reprioritizing of government spending. As long as he's offsetting it (and then some) with cuts elsewhere, I'm fine with it.

What I'm not fine with is a promise of shovel ready jobs that never existed.

You know that line was a lie, right?

As President Obama urges Congress to pass the $800 billion-plus stimulus package, one of his favorite selling points is the thousands of projects nationwide that he calls "shovel ready" — meaning planning is complete, approvals are secured and people could be put to work right away once funding is in place.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/15/obama-lesson-shovel-ready-not-so-ready/

Even before President Obama entered the White House, he and his allies successfully used the allure of “shovel ready” infrastructure projects to help sell his $787 billion stimulus legislation to a resistant Congress and a wary public.

“I think we can get a lot of work done fast,” Mr. Obama, then the president-elect, said in December 2008, after meeting with governors. “All of them have projects that are shovel ready, that are going to require us to get the money out the door.”

But in a recent interview with Peter Baker for a cover story to be published Sunday in The New York Times Magazine, the president acknowledged what has become painfully obvious in last 20 months: “shovel ready” didn’t mean what he and most people thought it did.

Trump's got one of these. Poor Barry.
