Finishing around the basket

Am I the only one who sees the nets blowing easy shots within 6 feet on a consistent basis?</p>

About 5 games or so it seemed like RJ lost 3" of hops and every dunk opportunity became a layin, half of which rolled off the rim.</p>

Boki, who posterized people with regularity last year is now getting blocked or trying to lay it in and missing.</p>

Both RJ + Vince are focusing more on trying to draw the foul than hitting the shot... and thus when the whistle doesn't come... the end result is a blown layup. Last night Vince airballed a runner from 5 feet out when the defender bailed and he was wide open - when he was expecting contact.</p>

All the bigs suck down low. They either rush a shot and clank it off the back rim (Mags especially) or wait for the extra defender to come resulting in a turnover, a foul and missed FTs, or a harder shot.</p>

I'm only 6'4" and if I get the ball within 5' you bet I'm gonna try to dunk it. They're taller, stronger, professional athletes... what's the deal? Go up strong and try to get the damn ball in the basket. A foul will happen if it happens, it seems like the Nets are getting tentative and playing FOR the whistle.</p>

I've seen it, and there's no excuse. These are fucking NBA players. They're paid not to miss layups. I'm embarrassed when I'm watching a game and RJ, Kidd, Vince, Malik, Collins...basically everyone on the team misses layups.</p>

And what happened to dunking the ball? That's the most sure-fire way to get the ball into the basket. Last year, we saw it alot. This year, I've seen it once a game from RJ, Vince, and Boki respectively. The only exceptions are Boone and Sean, who dunk it whenever they have the opportunity...Except Sean is rarely given the opportunity any more.</p>

This team is pathetic and not entertaining any more. That's what makes me more pissed than anything.</p>
