Hey Fellas -

New to the forum. I am a Blazers fan, having moved here and adopted them as my WC team.

Wanted to share the evaluation I did last night of Jon Barry's call of the Blazers game.

Anywho, here is my post: http://www.firejb.com/analysis/fire-jon-barry-march-5th-broadcast-breakdown-hawks-vs-blazers/

I created a site dedicated to getting rid of Jon Barry (www.firejb.com). So the effort is kind of funny, and also true. I am sort of like the Mike Brown to Fire Joe Morgan's Phil Jackson. If I am even as good as Mike Brown! ahaha.

So take a look and let me know what ya think.

I can dig it. I remember when MARIS61 used to actually insist he was the ghost of a Roger Maris. So I'm used to gimmick posters. And I hate Jon Barry so I like your gimmick!

Come on, Jon Barry has a point.

And that point is that his father is Rick Barry.

Props to you man. Looks like you put a lot of work into this. You'll fit in perfectly here

......because it seems you need to get a woman or a hobby mixed into your routine. #goodluck

Mrs. Hcp is available on road trips firejonbarry. No need to look elsewhere :)

I recorded the national broadcast of the game and watched it early this morning. Barry was so bland, and he seemed pretty much to only care if Korver his a three for the game.

^Yep. He totally phones it in. He does a false enthusiasm thing (which he did for the Korver threes) but it just falls flat.

This IS my hobby. (Watching the NBA and complaining about bad announcers).

Well, then you got a lot more people to make websites for, if that's the case.

The only thing I didn't like about your piece were the True Detective quasi-spoilers, but only because I'm only at Episode 3, which I'll watch when the kids go to bed.

Forgot to mention those, I am super sorry.

To those of you that are spoiler averse, i have two images that could be considered spoiler-y, so if you are not up to date on True Detective or are otherwise super spoiler averse, avoid the above linked post, which is just a long look at Jon Barry's call last night.

Rest of the site is spoiler free tho.

About to knock out the whole season on this road trip!!!! Can't wait!!

I wouldn't say they are true spoilers, but from what little I saw, things that can be assumed at this point.

A few years ago, Jerry Sloan was worshipped around the league. I ran across a Utah blog devoted to one thing, tearing down Jerry Sloan. There were years of daily blog entries about his mistakes in each previous game, along with general criticism of him. I posted the address, but I don't have it now. A prophet is without honor in his home.

Haha, I enjoyed this, read all the articles. I knew I drank more during ESPN games, now I know it is to drone out his stupid commentary. I was wondering why the announcers didn't say anything about Batum's slick spin move for a basket, now I realize it was because this guy was busy jacking it to Korver. I will never unhear his stupidity.

Its almost like Barry was acting as if he should feel apathetic about the game because he felt insulted to have to do play-by-play for a game like the Hawks vs. Portland. He's pissed that Doris Burke gets better gigs than him these days.

Hilarious! No really, it was!

I kill 2 birds with 1 stone by making my hobby to let my mom do my hair. Your words have no effect.

The game was over early. Nothing else to talk about.

Assuming he's hetero? And a man?
I call you out!
(joking HCP don't get on my butt, OK?)

I haven't had a chance to read your work. I will say that on one particular play, where Wes was hit HARD going to the basket, and came down hard, and Barry insisted Wes was trying to win an Oscar, even after multiple replays showed the contact, I was pretty much done with Barry then and there. Come to think of it, I recall Jon Barry going on a rant and being upset that the Blazers and Sonics got Oden and Durant, because only east coast teams and major markets like Los Angeles should get star players. You know, for the "good" of the league. Yeah, that Jon Barry.

I liked Rick, but apparently no one else did. He begat two sons.

Someone in the living room in front of the TV says it above the telecast. That's what I hear.
