Along the same lines as the "First Album" thread ...

Mine was Lollapalooza 1994 at the Gorge Amphitheatre.

Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, George Clinton, L7, Cypress Hill ... not bad for my first taste of live music.

Also happened to be the year that Nirvana was supposed to headline the tour but their lead singer couldn't make it for some reason.

7th grade
#1-Beastie Boys and Madonna
#2-Twisted Sister and Iron Maiden

Mom took me to the first one, dad to the second!

I'm not revealing my first concert because it's embarrassing, but my favorite was Queens of the stone age at the Crystal Ballroom.

Knowin' you, it was probably N'SYNC!

The Beach Boys at the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, around age 10 with my parents.

I went to that Lollapalooza at Cal State Dominguez Amphitheater in LA.

Well first concert was my parents choice when I was 8 or so. Don Ho in Honolulu! You know the song..."Tiny Bubbles, Make me Happy, Make me feel fine". I was actually brought up stage with a bunch of other kids and put in a group to sing a song with him. Somehow all these kids knew the lines! I was like WTF?!?

The first concert of MY choosing was Metallica! Same place as Lollapalooza. The lineup was Fight, Candlebox, Suicidal Tendencies, Metallica. Fight was Rob Halford's(Judas Priest) solo project. It was supposed to be Alice in Chains instead of Fight but the Alice in Chains singer died.

Metallica was the greatest thing ever to me at the time. I had my "Ride the Lightning" shirt on! I was in the mosh pit for every band. Metallica played forever! Really long show! The greatest part was when I was floated over the crowd maybe 15 feet from the stage. James Hetfield came to a part in a song where the song stopped and it was only him singing. Im looking up, getting floated, giving him my sign of the beast hand sign and he POINTS RIGHT AT ME while singing the lyrics, and then goes back to whaling on guitar. Fucking awesome.

That 15 year old DaRizzle was on cloud 9 :ohno:

I'm with you, but I'll sack up and say that I think my first concert was Bobby Brown at the MC. Keep in mind I was around 12-14 years old and obviously had horrible taste in music. The good thing was that I went with a cute girl from school. My parents dropped us off and picked us up. :biglaugh: You couldnt pay me to attend a concert like that now days.

July 17, 1976 @Anaheim Stadium: Gentle Giant, Gary Wright, Peter Frampton, & Yes.

barfo

R-Kelly concert. I think there were rumors going around that he was getting arrested for marrying aliyah. i thnk 1994....other peeops at the concert....

Woodstock. No shit. My parents were hippies.

mc hammer at MC, i think i was 11. me and a friend went decked out in hammer pants, sat 4th row from the stage. i remember seeing jerome kersey there, and that was more of a thrill to me than the actual concert.

My first concert is only embarrassing because it reveals my age...

Not counting the time my parents took the whole family to Harry Belafonte, my first concert was ... (drumroll)...

THE BEATLES AT DODGER STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A gift for my 11th birthday. Went with my sister, her friend, and my cousin on the bus.

In high school my cousin and I hit basically every big 60s band and LA area rock festival except the Rolling Stones, somehow missed them.

Dave Mathews Band @ Nissan Amphitheatre near DC. Went with a couple of buddies and didn't know a single song.

My first concert was the first large-scale concert ever held in the Kingdome: Led Zeppelin - 1977

Weeks later, I attended Foghat (Sammy Hagar was their intro) at the Memorial Coliseum.

Bon Jovi opening for Ratt in 1987, I think?

I want to see him live...

I saw DMB in a bar called the Cat's Paw in Bozeman, MT somewhere around 1993/94.

I also saw Pearl Jam play literally in a barn at the Bozeman Fairgrounds a few months prior to Ten being released.

Metallica at Memorial Coliseum 1992. Their basest wore a Bulls shirt and got booed very loudly for it.

$200 bucks to the first person who can make me an avatar of BeerBoy wearing Hammer Pants while working at Taco Bell!

Quarterflash, sometime in the early 80's

I've got a nomination for worst concert ever. Slayer....Couldn't understand a damn thing being sung, and I thought I might die before the night was over. I was way out of my element, but the tickets were free!

Dude...dont rag on Slayer. Slayer fucking rules. Maybe my best concert ever was a Slayer/Pantera show. There are few things in the world that compare to the energy of Slayer playing Reign in Blood to a full house. Epic
